Default G5 broadheads???

I shot two deer opening morning in VA. one did not go 50 yards and fell. the other went out of sight. Both shots were broad side shots double lung. Never could find a blood trail on the first deer, that was the one that went out of sight . The other deer did not have much of a blood trail nether.
Both broadheads were fresh out the box. I have been doing some reading on the G5 Montec and have heard that they need a little sharpening out of the box. Does anybody have any input on this subject?

The Montec's sharpness is questionable. The Striker with the replaceable blades is the way to go. Big blood trail. All attributed to the sharpness of the blades. That is why a scarry sharp blade will leave a tremendous blood trail and a marginally sharp blade will not.

Just touch the montecs up on a stone and get them so they will at least shave the hair on your arm and it should make for much better blood trails. They come sharp enough to do the trick but need some touching up to really reach full potential.
