That's too hot to even feel like deer season IMO. I don't blame you. If it isn't fun, then it isn't huntingNot to rub it in, but our temps are supposed to be in the low 40's for the opener this weekend. Ok, really I am rubbing it in

I laugh every time a skinny guy comes to this conclusion. Fat guys have realized this long ago. 70 is almost too hot for me.

LOL Copper!!!

I'm far from skinny....but it's hard to get past the thought that I might be "missing something" by not being out there. I suppose part of maturing as a hunter is knowing when to stay OUT of your good areas....and take a chance on the fringes. I did that Saturday evening and last night. I saw deer at a distance.....but I'm OK with that. I'll wait and either go in when it's cooler (to my good spots).....or wait it out on the fringes and take a chance I get one to come by.

I hear ya, Jeff.....just frustrated with the heat. I've got plenty of fringe areas that I don't normally hunt that I can go into. I still may try that.....and just "scout" from there and try to learn something. We'll see.
Jeff, i know the heat can be frustrating, but it can also be the best time of the year to hunt.

I dont hunt a ton right now and when i do i make sure it worth it. Right now, im spending more time scouting and glassing than i am hunting. Once i figure out what the deer are tending to do, then i act on it and get in the woods.

Ive been scouting a big boy the past couple days and Shawn and I will make the move on him in the morning.
