New Strategy......

Stay out of the freakin woods when it's this hot.
I'm done sweating my ass off. It's doing no good to hunt even the fringes in this heat.
I'll go back when the temps drop below 80.
As an aside....I bumped 2 deer going in last night that were at the creek, drinking. If I had the middle fo the days to hunt, right now....I "might" set up on the creek and wait 'em out. Truth is, though.....they could drink anywhere along that creek. I think I'm gonna just wai t'em out.....and let my woods cool down some (literally).

I agree, I havent been in the woods since September 12 becuase of this heat. It was 96 degrees here yesterday, its crazy. I wont be back in the woods again until the temps drop for sure.

Yeah, our opener looks to have highs in the low 90s. That sucks! I'll get out in the morning Saturday and Sunday while the temps are in the 60s, and get out before I really start to sweat.

I hear ya, Jeff.....just frustrated with the heat. I've got plenty of fringe areas that I don't normally hunt that I can go into. I still may try that.....and just "scout" from there and try to learn something. We'll see.

I'll admit that I hunt every minute of the day when the seasons in that I'm not at work or sleeping however, I have taken breaks when the temps soar. PA is not fortunate to have a long season like many states so we must be out there when it's open. BUT, like I mentioned, when the temps soar into the 90's and although I've sat in the trees on those days, I have taken a few days off. In PA however, it's maybe a week, then temps drop again.
