Scent Free when Scouting?
#1

I was just wondering how important it is to be scent free when scouting new hunting land. The thing is, I just got a new hunting lease and was going to go tomorrow and scout it out and set up my equipment (stand, trail cam, feeder, etc.) If i hadn't planned on hunting it until next weekend should I still worry about my scent? Could I just go as far as wearing rubber boots and gloves instead of going the whole nine yards and bathing and washing some clothes in scent killing soaps?

i think its more important to be scent free when scouting cause you need the deer to come back. at least if you couldnt when you hunted maybe youd get a shot before they smelled you but why risk it how much time doesnt it take to wash your clothes and spray down compared to spending hours in a tree not seeing anything cause of those few extra minutes.

I don't use scent killer this and that when scouting unless its later in the season and i am trying to hunt a paticlur deer. Our season comes in during Aug. so its so hot and dry that it doesn't really matter. you scent will dry before a deer comes through.
I do wear my rubber boots though. So far...i've been good.
