Perhaps you would have been better off to keep this decision private Jeff. Tough crowd you're dealing with here. As far as doing what is right bawana, who made you the expert?
It takes no expertize to know that shooting a tame deer in a pen is wrong.[:'(]

It a personal decision and if Jeff feels comfortable doing it, I would say go for it. Since he stated he has a working relationship as well this would have some bearing on my decision as well.

People will voice their opinions freely but that is what it should be an opinion- if you have different views that is fine but I don't agree with someone trying to turn their opinion into a judgement

There are no rights and wrongs everyone gains a degree of satisfaction from the way they hunt -

I for one will support Jeff with either decision he makes, because he is a fellow sportsman and we need to stick together

Jeff I would look at it as Good Business. I think that if you go into it with the mindset that it's shooting practice and not hunting I would have no problem doing it. Go for it.

I have no idea what the season dates are....or how they apply to his operation. I'll say this, RIGHT NOW. If it conflicts with what I'm trying to do, here....I won't go. if I can go later (or earlier...which I doubt)in the year....and I've done my part, here.....I will consider it.

bawana....I've owned a few honda cars....but you're on your own with the fat chicks. I have no experience.

I asked here...because I value you guys opinions. I'll still make my own decision. If it's helping him.....and furthering a business relationship.....I WILL consider it. I won't let this get in the way of what I need to do here, though.

And if I were lucky enough to take a buck......you guys bring up a WHOLE new question (RE: having it mounted).

"The Bull" I'm hunting in my woods, this year.......He won't go 100". I can tell you with all sincerity.....that I'd take him over a 150" shot in that guys fence. That's just "me",.....and you guys are on your own (if this type situation arises for you). I won't look at you down my nose, either way.

take the politics and persons "personal" opinions out............what does your counscious say??

me personally......i hunt not to keep QDM ( i leave that up to my state), not to get a monster on my wall.......i hunt because i love to eat venison...plan and simple.....

if the deer on the high fence range have a big enough pin (no disease) and the animals are healthy i would do it for the meat.....not for a 140" potential "management" buck as you have stated.....IMO that is not something i would be proud of...........but i would enjoy eating a nicevenison steak

JNT....If I don't shoot 8 deer this year....I'll be disappointed. I need to take more.

"Venison" won't be an issue, this year (nor was it last year....when we donated 2 deer to a family). That's probably where this meat would go, as well.

Jeff, your a good man and your decision wont change the way i look at you. I would find it hard to pass up when its a fee deal assuming it doesnt interfear with what you got going on in your woods at home...
