Public or Private Land Hunter?
#23
Well over 75% of my hunting is done on public land. Though it is not the same type of public land most are used to and is better than a lot of private land out there. I am extremely fortunateto be able to control access to many square miles of public land and am able to hunt deer that have rarely seen people.

I will be hunting land that no one is allowed to hunt including myself!
There is no hunting pressure and plenty of game. That answer was to specifically annoy the I wouldn't cross a posted land boundary line to recover my deer group!
My real answer is 50% private (although the land owner doesn't know it)
Kidding! and 50% public.

I will spend most of my time on public land that includes State game lands and a lease I belong to.(400 members on 19,000 acres)
I also will be hunting land in theprivate community I live in. It's a management hunt by definition. But I'll be sharing it with 149 other permitted hunters. Is that considered private?

It's the same way up in phillips, which is why I stick to bowhunting for the most part

I said 75% public. Once ina while I can tag along with a buddy and hunt their property, but for the most part I stay on public land. There is plenty of room for bowhunters in my area - gun season is another story though.

I hunt both..... The last two years I have spent more time on public than private..... Which is really odd as I have some pretty decent private land to hunt. I just have to share it with some not so good hunters who educate the local whitetails pretty fast. So I just go South to some good public land and go in deep.

I have two nice places on private land to hunt. I usually only go there when I take my son out. My chances of success are better on the private land since there are old food plots on one and a guy with a pea patch next to the the other. I just don't feel like I'm hunting if I get out of my truck and walk 300 yards to a blind and sit in a chair. I am sure my opinion will change as I get older.
