Would you knowingly break the law?

Much as the the Hunter in your scenerio would be killed off..the Landowner would be in jail..thus orphaning his family..at least at the landowners going "away" party..they could say "he always liked screwing people".."we'll see how he likes it on therecieving end!"
Ain't this a good head-scratcher????

DES MOINES, Iowa, Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Hunters in much of the U.S. Midwest have been warned to keep their eyes open for methamphetamine laboratories deep in the woods.
Michigan State Police Lt. Chet Wilson told USA Today that at least three hunters have found stockpiles of chemicals and equipment.
Police and wildlife officials say that hunters who see what appear to be meth labs with people there should keep their distance. A South Dakota handbook advises hunters that coming close to a working lab while dressed in camouflage and carrying a rifle "can be a recipe for disaster," the newspaper said.
The law enforcement crackdown on the drug and its manufacture appears to have driven many people to the woods. Manufacturing meth involves working with chemicals that give off distinct odors and can alert the neighbors.
"Wildlife areas are a place cookers can go and not risk having the neighbors next door turn them in," said Rod Slings of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

Just another.
Do not approach or confront any individuals in the area. They may be paranoid or violent if they are high on Meth or if they are in the process of making the drug. (See: How to Deal with a Tweaker)

Dealing With Tweakers
People who abuse Meth regularly are known as 'tweakers'. Tweakers often behave or react violently. Keep in mind, the tweaker may not have slept in three to fifteen days and may be irritable and paranoid. If the tweaker is also using alcohol or other drugs, the danger may be intensified.
The tweaker craves more Meth, but no dosage will help recreate the first rush. This may cause frustration and leads to unpredictable behavior and violence. To support their habits, tweakers often participate in spur-of-the-moment crimes, such as purse snatching or burglaries.
Tweakers are often involved in domestic disputes and automobile accidents. They may also be present at raves or parties. They may at first appear to be normal. A closer look will reveal eye movement ten times faster than normal, a voice with a slight quiver and jerky movements.
If you notice that someone is tweaking, be careful how you handle the situation. Keep in mind these six safety tips for approaching a tweaker:
1. Keep your distance. Coming too close can be perceived as threatening.
2. No bright lights. The tweaker is paranoid and bright lights may cause them to react violently.
3. Slow your speech, lower your voice.
4. Slow your movements. The tweaker is paranoid and may misunderstand your movements.
5. Keep your hands visible, or they may feel threatened and become violent.
6. Keep the tweaker talking. A tweaker who falls silent can be extremely dangerous. Silence often means that his paranoid thoughts have taken over reality, and anyone present can become part of the tweaker's paranoid delusions.

If you are threatened, call the police and tell them that this person may be under the influence of Meth or other drugs.

True, GR8....but we're talking about what you as a HUNTER would do. It just seems that putting yourself into that POSSIBLE scenario wouldn't be the most responsible thing to do. I'm betting there ARE people who would shoot at someone they have pre-warned to stay off their property. I could be wrong.
Ain't this a good head-scratcher????

In all reality if some one has made it quit clear to you that it is very important to them that you do not enter their property there just might be a reason that they requested that you stay away. Just maybe!
Fran's an admitted sneaker he's not a tweaker seeker!!!!!!!![

A lot of these posts are not considering the main question.
You have asked permission to enter the property to retrieve your game and been told "no." You would have already explained that the deer is right over the line and still been denied access. At this point you have 2 choices:
1. Cut your losses and realize that you are dealing with an unreasonable person that will not allow you, a CO, or anyone else to retrieve a dead animal from their property.
2. Say f*** them, and find a way to sneak onto their property to get your kill.
To me, if someone is that unreasonable, my respect for them as a land owner is out the door, but my respect for their rights is not. Also, if they are that unreasonable how reasonable do you think they will be if they catch you. If you were so persistant you know they will be looking. You had better hope that they called the police or their property could end up being your permanant residence.
I would do everything within my power to recover that deer, but if the landowner knows my intentions and despite my good faith has said no and the legal authorities can't help (which now they know your intentions as well) and you disregard all of that for a deer, you are now in the wrong.
Try arguing that case."Yes your honor, the landowner did say no, so I called the conservation officer. The landowner said no to him as well and the CO said there is nothing more we could do so I called the police. They said the landowner has the right to deny access. I pleaded again offering money and the option to have the land owner go with me and he still said no. So, I went anyway. That was my buck and it's really big."
I think you'll be lucky not to be leaving the court room with gavel marks on your forehead in that case.

I dunno..it seems to be getting blown way outta porportion..Now we have meth labs and all these other scenerios being introduced.. From the original thread I thought we were talking about a known hunting area where a well hit deer travels beyond the allowable land onto a neighboring property.. In this situation, I said I try and gain permission but if I cannot I go and retrieve the deer Period. I'm not talking about some wild tracking adventure. I'm not talking about land that is soforeign to me that I stumble onto meth labs and 100 acre pot fields with gun toting crazies shooting at me from every window in the trailer.
