Every ones ten foot tall and bullet proof standing behind their key board.
And you're not? It seems to me that you have been just as hard headed on this one as the rest of the people in this conversation. Just what I've observed though...

I think he is talking about saying "I would just go get my deer"

The reality is that most guys would get their deer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like it or not guys, situational ethics are a REALITY!!! That is why guys put up different senarios ..... the answer ALL depends on the situation!!! Now making it sound like there are meth dealers around every bush .... that's stretching it .... just a little

Pretty interesting thread GMMAT.

I'm going to get the deer. Big or small, doesn't matter to me. I owe it to the animal.
If the land owner catches me and is going to be an ***hole about it, especially if I have no intention of damaging his property, which I would not , I guess I'll see him in court and maybe pay my fine.

Even if you hunted away from the line you never know what way the deer will run and how far.

I've changed my mind about the issue. I posted in the 10 yard thread I wouldn't go get the deer if I couldn't see where it dropped ,I believe I would. Size doesn't matter.
Archer58 there are some landowners in MI where my buddies hunts where it won't go to court[] These guys are nuts

Man I am sure glad my neighbors and I have good communication
It is possible it could get ugly, but I guess I have alot of faith in my fellow man. I would hope he wuold listen to reason for the animal's sake.

Situational ethics ...... the landowner would be the unreasonable one in the above senario, IMO ......

A lot has happened since I was on here last. Looks like some have modified their point of view while others have stood fast to thier initial position.
I like the phrase "situational ethics". It's a great concept right up until the emotional aspect comes crashing in. Ethical decision makingbased on strong emotional input is a recipe for disaster.
Is it actually possible that doing something "wrong" is the "right" thing to do? I believe that in some instances it is.
This has been a great thread with a lot of great input. I don't believe anyone has really been wrong. I think part of the problem is that it's not a "yes" or "no" question. I believe it is, and always will be, an "it depends" question.
