Default Quartering at you shots

A few pages back, someone wrote about a quartering at him shot and that such a shot is "not that good."

I had a friend who took a quartering to shot, he hit the deer, and we never found him (of course). I was shocked when he described the shot that he said the deer was quartering to him. He was an experienced bowhunter with lots of kills, but somehow he did not know about quartering at you shots.

There is no circumstance at which I would shoot at a quartering to me deer. None. Its not a shot. Its not that it isn't that great of a shot. Its simply not a shot. I'll just wait for the next deer. What is the big deal, am I starving?

My whole point is that we may be taking it for granted that people know about quartering to you shots. Tell every hunter (especially new ones).

Hopefully every hunter has taken the Bowhunter Education course where shot placement is discussed. There will always be those however who feel they are above that information and will learn it the hard way eventually.

Bob, couldn't agree more. I wish all states would require it, in fact, it should almost be a mandatory refresher course every 5 years of so. I know that's a little harsh but in reality, people forget simple things. I know I do.
