Default Full moon

Wow the action really hit the skids the last 2 days.Had absolutely perfect weather the last couple of days here. Nice and crisp with little to no wind. Getting really "rutty" these days. I can't believe I havent' seen a single deerthe last few sits. I've heard various opinions on hunting with a full moon. What's your opinion. Is it the moon or have I been patterned?

I don't like the full moon either. I'm not much of a mid day sitter.

i hate the full moon. i went out this afternoon at 1330and didnt see anything until sundown when it was too dark to shoot. i saw a six and a spike. it was hot at noon.[:@] it was around 65.

i told my father-in-law that a nice buck was seen on his property. so he decided to go outnoon. he saw two does at first. on the way back to the house he saw the buck i had told him about. he told me that the buck is about a 130 class. the buck came within 4 yards away from him. the bad thing about him seeing all the deeris that he couldnt shoot anything because he hurt his back and didnt have a bow.

I had been out the last four afternoons. First two very windy and cold, third slight breeze absolutley nothing. Went back to the other place I hunt tonight(closer to town) and saw a spike at about 4:05pm.....thats all!!!

during full moon do they just feed better and can stay bedded longer or does that moon actually affect the way they move?

For me, the full moon seems to kill the morning movement. The evenings seem to be about normal. I think cloud cover also affects how much influence the full moon has.

Nothings going to stop rutting bucks. It might be time to move to a new spot. I saw 2 bucks this morning and 5 from 2:30 till dark. Thats 7 bucks today and I usually never see that many. Of the 7 bucks 5 of them had one side of their rack broke off. I had what would have been an 8 point under me for 30 minutes. He would have made the 150's if he had the other side. He had pink skin showing on his back where he had gotten his tail whipped. He was still walking around trying to fight other bucks that showed up. I'm after the one tha broke all these boys off.

The main thing that I hate about the full moon is that it's so unpredictable. Textbook the deer are supposed to move more at midday, and I mostly agree with that, but for whatever reason it seems that some years I never see anything in midday during the full moon, and other years it's no telling what time of day you'll see action. I do agree with DaveH, I believe evenings are best during the full moon. Down here in the south with our liberal seasons I usually take care of honey-dos and other things during the full moon, maybe hunt a little bit in the evenings. For instance, I'm in the process of trying to get finished building a restaurant for the wife, I'll be off work this Mon., Tues., and Wed., and I'll work on that from morning until about 3:00 unless it rains lol.
