Let the cover around you dictate how high or low you should be.

I prefer to be high up- 20-30 feet. Disguises movement so well, and you can cover so much more area. I have a 1 1/2 year old son and may try a ground blind in the future so he can hunt with me.

Where I hunt you need to be 30+ in most places do to the number of deer around. You can ground hunt if you want and get deer but your odds of a nice buck drop dramatically.

Always hunt high. It is a lot more interesting.

I have hunted off of the ground 1 time in my life, and walked out draggin a respectable 9 pt. And every other time over the last 20 + years as been in a tower, climber, ladder, or fixed position stand. I killed one on the ground but I have never hunted that way again, and thinking about it now I am at a complete loss as to why I haven't. hmmmmmm.

I ALWAYS hunt from my climber. Usually anywhere from 10-20 feet up. Try to stay high.

I am really suprised by the height some of you get to. In my Loggy Bayou climber I can only get about 12 to 15 feet, which I used to think was high. Apparantly I was mistaken. Oh well good luck to all and be safe.
