Default HOW HIGH IS TOO HIGH

I bought a 20ft climbing stick and put one of my stands at 20ft, im a little worried that at 20 yrds im going to have a real steep shot. Do any of you guys hunt out of stands 20 ft or higher and do you have any trouble with shot placement?

I think you'll be fine at 20. Personally, I like to stay between 15 -18 feet anymore than that and I feel it's overkill. Of course, this might have to do with the fact that I can get skeered when being that high up.

35 feet is about my limit, and that is only in spots that still only put me 20 feet up on the deer or so, such as a rivine off a field edge or on a bench in the mountain.

It all depends on the set up for me, I have one stand that has been in the same tree for 8-9 years (yes I take it down every year and check it out). This stand is 40 ft from the base (I have to use 2-20'rope's fto pullmy equipment up) but there is a steep uphill grade from the base of my tree, soI am almost eye level with the deer at 50yds out. Normally my stands are around 20' as I too use sticks that are in 5' increments....It all depends on the lay of the land for me and my set up's but if you bend at the waist and keep proper form you shouldn't have much problem but you also NEED to practice from the heights that you are going to hunt!!!! Good luck to you this fall.

I use 20' sticks on my 7 stands and have NEVER had a problem with shot placement. I imagine you would have to go MUCH higher to have an angle issue. Regardless of what the rangefinder marketing executives tell you. (hint hint)

I go around 20 to 24 all the time. you will be fine at that hight. I think when you approach 30 that it is getting excessive .

60 feet, yup 60 feet is too high.

All my stands hang between 20 and 25 feet.

When I use my climber I climb until I feel my bow come off the ground which puts me about 23 feet, IF foliage and lay of the land allow.

I think there is no such thing as too high when it comes to hunting out of a tree

20-25 feet, as above, is fine. Shot is steep, but you will be fine.

Yes to the first question and no to the second question. In my opinion, when I get to around 23,24+ feet I feel like I am at a disadvantage.
