Default Is it better to be high?

Just wondering how many hunters use tree stands as opposed to ground blinds. I use tree stands.

I hunt from both, but use the treestand about 80 percent of the time as opposed to the blind. It is more dependant on what the deer are doing.

I use all species of tree stand (climber, ladder, and fixed), but just ordered my 1st ground blind from Bass Pro, so we'll see if I become a convert.

I'll say this I have killed 3 deer with my bow and 2 of them were off the ground. I prefer being in a stand you can see further and deer are less likely to see you. However being that deer can see 310 degrees they can see you pretty much anywhere. You just have to control your movement. You can move slow enough that if a deer were in close vicinty to you, it would not be able to tell the difference. The only thing I fear about a ground blind is, is shooting the blind or the railing on the windows I prefer for my shooting lanes to be a little bit further out and deeper than a blind window.

95% of the time, on a stand. Would like to try some more time in a blind.

no but seriously. its better to be high because, a ground blind can spook a deer that travels through that area alot, unless u can perfectly camo it in... i recommend tree stands, plus you can see alot more.

Generally it is much better to be high when you are hunting.

Oh wait, were you talking about the height of your treestand?!
