Havent had much luck with either this year yet. I prefer evenings, but like mornings simply because I get to see my kids more in the evenings if I stay home. To me, nothing hurts more than going home empty handed after dark thinking that I should have been home helping with homework, playing ball or tormenting my daughters new boyfriend after school. I have to admit though, when he sees me getting out of my truck with my camo on and a bow in my hand after dark he doesnt stay around long!
I see just as many deer either way, but spook less in the evenings simply because I can see where I am going. In my areas they move as much at either time.

Funny, I prefer evening hunts, but I have shot more deer in the mornings than at night!

I don't know why that is, maybe just because I know the coldest time of the day is right after the sun comes up and I *always* seem to get chilled right off the bat... no matter how I dress. I see about the same amount of deer in the morning as I do in the evening. The one thing I do NOT like about morning is the fact that it never fails, I have a deer or two within range of my stand when I get there, and by the time I get up there, they have busted. Grrrr... I hate that.

I like them both for sure, but if I had to pick one, it would be the morning for sure. I like to drop one right there in front of me and let it lay for a while. Sometimes you may bag another. I feel like I'm on a timer in the evenings, but I guess that is because I am!

I have taken equal amounts of bucks in the AM as well as the PM. I have taken more does in the AM. The biggest bucks came in the AM. All that said, I've always seen more deer in the PM.
Go figure.

Like SBGobblers said I really don't have a good stand location for morning hunts. and I never seem to see many deer in the AM however all things being equal and if I saw that same amount in the AM as the PM I would hunt morning every time. I feel rushed in the evening

Mornings I hunt off fields deeper in the woods early in the year. And in the evenings I hunt edges of the fields. I have less of a chance spookin' deer this way. It's worked great for me early in the season so far, I've seen a lot of deer. Mornings and evenings seem to be equal for where I hunt.

For me I've almost seen deer ever time I've hunting in the evenings but personally there is nothing like being in the woods when the sun comes up and the woods start waking up all around me. I think I can sense the Lord more in the mornings to.There is just something special about it. I'm looking forward to my first morning hunt this season.

I prefer morning hunts myself. Something about watching the woods come to life is just awesome in my opinion. I just enjoy hunting in the cooler weather more and it makes it easier to track deer, get the cleaned, taken to the meat locker etc. etc.

I hunt just as much in the evenings, I just prefer mornings.

ORIGINAL: steelerzzz
In the morning I tend to get a little closer to the bedding areas, and in the evening I stay closer to the food sources.
Ditto that. I like to catch them sneaking back to their beds in the AM. I like to catch them filtering into the fields in the evening.
