Oh well--we're supposed to support ANYTHING that has the tag 'hunt' attached to it, so as not to fight amomg ourselves---NOT! See, this is what I am saying about policing ourselves and getting refocused on what hunting, traditional hunting is all about---for the sake of th efuture of our tradition! Put the joy of th ehunt back where it belongs.

"So if I have 20 cages on my property, each one with a different animal that I bought, you really wouldn't have a problem with me just going out there and popping them with an arrow while they are still in the cage? "
Nope. Not if its legal and you did it humanely with a well placed shot. How is this any different than taking an animal in a fenced ingame farm? The size of the cage of pen doesn't matter. The animal still can't get away.I think you're confusing this with whether or not I consider it hunting, which I already stated in a clear manner that I do not.
I personally would never take an animal in this manner, but I won't criticize someone who does as long as they do it legally and humanely (looks like he may have done neither in this case). The problem I've stated I have with this whole situation is that he tried to pass it off as a "hunt," which it clearly was not.

And some people on this forum still maintain : "If you aren't for ALL types of hunting, you are AGAINST hunting".
Any hunter who thinks this is okay is just as bad as Gentry and Jimmy Houston IMO.

I watch the Jackie Bushman show on the Outdoor Channel....Montgomery Gentry does the lead in song and if I'm not mistaken, are friends of Bushman. Any tie in with the bear hunt and the Bushman show?

I really could care less that he shot a bear in a cage as long as he paid for it and the owner agreed to it. What's really messed up is trying to make it look like a REAL hunt. A guy who has that much money could have went on a hunt anywhere in the world and he shoots a pet bear, what a loser. By the way if you ever have trouble transferring music from a CD to an MP3 there's a great little program called tunebite. It will work on any CD.

I don't give a rats A$$ about this. Yes your right it's not hunting but who cares? He's the one who looks like the fool. I just wonder exactly what the charge was. I guess it's screwing with the public record. Otherwise,it doesn't bother me in the least.

You said you would never take an animal like this, why not? Don't you think it's ethical?

What Troy did is just plain dumb. It wasn't wise from a career standpoint or ethical asa hunter. I don't think anyone who is a true hunter could agree that hunting any animal in a pin or cage is fair, ethical or hunting. JMO. I for one am disappointed. Both he and Eddie have done well for themselves and it just was dumb. Just hoped he learns a valuable lesson.

Sorry I highly agree that this loser has no right to be called a hunter in and sense of the word. What he did was totally unethical and a slap in the face to all real hunters. He knew it was by the simple fact he tried to hide it by making it look like a wild kill. I hope they throw the book at him and give him everything the law allows. Think about it on this line. The next Deer "farm" that grows the next Goliath and goes out to the cage and shots it and calls it legel since he "owned/ bought" the deer. Now you got a 400+ class deer and this loser is making a ton of cash off ads for everthing down to the tolite paper he claimed to have carried into the woods. Turns into a giant fruad and we as hunters need to stand up and make a point of not primiting this to happen to hunting. I stand beside and behind every hunter in the world but this guy isn't a hunter he is a poacher and a loser.
