While climging with my Summit Cobra XL, the arm rest actually bent strait out to the side. This stand has seen alot of use over the last couple of years, but has never been abused or even left out in the weather, as I always pack it in & out. To say the least, I was a bit pissed off!!! Being only half way up the tree I had to take the hand climber off and drop it to the ground and shimmy my way down hugging the tree.
Luckily my brother had a stand not far from where I was at so I climbed in it and ended up taking a nice doe. At least the hunt wasn't totally ruined.
This is the second Summit I have owned and I really love them both. When this stand was purchased 2 years ago it only had a 1 year warranty (now they have a 5 year warranty), but I decided to call customer service and see what they would say.
I couldn't believe it after I explained the problem, the service rep. said they would send me a new stand, NO QUESTIONS ASKED.
Even though it was a small miscovenience, it is nice to know that they stand by their product.
THANK YOU SUMMIT TREESTANDS!!!

Hey roughneck,
A friend of mine had the same exact experience. He fell RIGHT THROUGH the darn thing, tearing the heck out of his hunting clothes and obviously ruining his stand. They not only sent him a new stand, but 200 bucks for his clothes. A class act.

I had a hole in my blow up air seat and they sent me a new one no questions asked, ill tell you you cant beat their costumer service, if only more companies would be like them it would be great. I think that summit is a bunch of honest individuals that understands the needs of hunters and also understands that we are not made of money, some dont care but summit does thats what puts them on their own turf when it comes to tree stands....
Hunting with a bow brings about a different challenge on every hunt!!!

I had the same thing happen to me, roughneck. I tried e-mailing Summit but have not gotten a response. Would it be better to do things over the phone? Maybe e-mail isn't a good way to contact them.

Summits CS is exceptional to say the least. I had a weld break and sent an email....I didn't get response right away so I called.

Give them a call right now, I'll bet they send a stand out today or tomorrow morning.

I had the seat part of summit python totally collapse while climbing. The safety belt saved me. I called summit and they sent me the new goliath the next day. Also, when I ordered the python, the first one I got was missing a weld on a brace and they replaced it immediately. There customer service is great, however, there stands don't seem to have the same quality and strength they use to have.
