As a owner of three Mathews bows, and also working part time at a Mathews dealership (top 100 Mathews dealer for 2005). I can tell you for sure the peopleat your pro shopare full of crap! I have never heard of a string comming off like that on any new bow. Also I don't understand why they can't fix it there at the shop. IMO they are a terrible, terrible pro shop. I also wouldn't call them a pro shop at all because it seems to me that their is nothing pro about them. Last year we had a fellow run over his new Mathews Switchbackdurring the middle of theIdaho septemberarchery season. His bow case fell out of the back of his truck that was packed full ofcamping and huntinggear. They we going down a narrow mountain dirtroad, andhis horse trailer ran it over. His buddy who was behind himalsopulling a horse trailer couldn't stop in time or vear off the road to avoid running it over, also ran it over as well. To say it was damaged beyond repairis a understatement. Mathews bowsdo come with a lifetime warrenty to the origional buyer, but he didn't think it would cover this.Long story short Mathews didn't even question why or how it happened.Theyjust had us give him a new Switchback off our shelf (he did have to buy new accessories)and out the door he went thesame dayready to hunt again. We had to send in thedamged bow andMathews sent us backa new one to replace the one on our shelf. That is quality service in my book, I don'tknow for sure but I wouldbet that Hoyt would be willing to do the same thing. It just sounds to melike you are getting screwed buy your pro shop.

yeah i feel like I'm taking it up the ***. the bad thing is that the guys at the store are kinda friends of mine. I mean i have done business with them for 10 years and they know me by name. I don't think they would do me wrong...but then agian I don't really fully trust anybody.

What I love is the bad-mouthing of other bows.....when the one you just sold is obviously either: 1) flawed or 2) a piece of sh%t.
I shoot the mathews Switchback......always performed flawlessly.....and it's sitting at home right now.....ready for opening day.
Not bad for an inferior product!!
Jeff
BTW.....I'd SERIOUSLY consider switching shops. You didn't buy the bow from Hoyt. You bought it from THEM. This whole situation makes clear the fact that Hoyt is a far superior product
.
This reminds me of a cartoon I once read.
It's hard to be taken seriously.....when you're parked behind a goat.......a leg in each hand........pants and underwear around your ankles......saying "hey look.....that other guy's boinking a goat!"

don't get you feathers all ruffled. I didn't say that the mathews was an inferior product. I repeated what I was told. sorry if you were sensitive to that subject. but i guess you could also take from what i said that my 6 year old high country is the s**t since i still have it, but you negleted that point. the word "mathews" perked your ears, obviously
. relax I'm nottrash talking, but if i were it wouldn't be on their product, it would be their advertising propaganda. the constant shoving their products down you throat. somehow they even got my address and mailed me another ad and a mathews sticker...."return to sender" took care of it.

they call hoyt cause they have never seen this happen before on a hoyt. they have seen it all the time on MATHEWS. mathews has extremley thin metal in their cams and when the string comes off the camgets bent or shaves the metal off.
And yes.....the word Mathews DID perk my ears. It's the bow that I have that performs flawlessly......while the bow your shop talks upis ....shall we say....."USELESS"? I'm happy you have the high country. Good bow, It seems. Congrats.
"advertising propoganda"???? This ought to be good. Explain??

If it was any kind of Pro shop they would replace your bow and deal with Hoyt themselfs.
SBG, I too also find it funny that they (his pro shop) are quick to blame and point fingers at another bow company (Mathews) in order to take the heat off themself's and Hoyt. Its a cop outfor poor service IMO.It also seems that outdoorsmen doesn't want to rock the boat and create ripplesforseveralreasons. Oneis because he seems to be friends with these fellas that call themselves pros as in "Pro Shop". And two heseems very, veryloyal to Hoyt, and heclearly doesn't like Mathews.Nothing wrong with that,we each have are favorites for different reasons. I honesly think that he believes that if he had a Mathews it would only be worse. Or it would be a common problem like they told him it would be.If I were a betting man, I would bet that his"non pro, pro shop"guys knowthat hedoesn't like Mathews, so when they see him or talk to him over the phone, theyfeed him BS about Mathews. And he likes what he hears from them so he is not willing to speak his mind about the service he is getting. But he is not happy overall, so instead of rocking the boat he comes here and lets his frustrations be know. If I were in his shoes I could care less about what may or may not happen to another bow manufacture. After all I didn't buy the"other" manufactures bow,and its not the"other" manufactures bow that is haveing this problem. It is my bow that is having the problem soI would only care about my own bow getting fixed or replaced quickly. I would also find another Pro shop to do my business with and I would write a hand written letter, (they seem to hold more weight over a email) to "my" manufacture (hoyt)and let them know of my anger over the whole deal.

I've never heard of that happening either. Not on a Hoyt OR a Mathews..
That is a bummer but I would not be afraid to shoot either brand bow and I think once they
fix it that will be it.. Or so I would hope..
