If the government makes money off from it you won't see it go. It may get more expensive, but it won't go. The only way they would away with it is if the deer population became dangerously low. And then they would work on a way to re-introduce them like they did turkeys where I live.
PETA can whine and moan all they want, but unless they come up for a way for the government to replace those funds and help keep the population in check I don't see it happening. It's a win win situation for the government.

This is the very reason that right now i am trying to get all the state outdoor associations linked and working together. With a united voice we can defeat them, but without it WE WILL FALL. I am a taxidermist, and I have seen how a strong voice can make a difference. E-Bay crumbled under the pressure of anti's, by not allowing us to sell game animals, until they had enough people, taxidermists and trappers, etc, raise their voice. If you all will get involved in your state and national organizations, get them to join forces, tell them about the plot that PETA is trying to do, get them involved. This forum is a good place to start. If I can help in any way, let me know. Remember, first and foremost, be professional, get your facts straight and stick to them. Don't argue with anger, argue with facts. When they turn you to anger, they win. For those of you that don't think this can happen, you're kidding yourself. Look at all the things we have already lost. Unfortunately, look at Greta Britain, their citizens aren't even allowed to own guns. I have talked to one guy there and he is just about depressed about it.
