hey, well my first question is: what is the easiest way toshoot a deer: stand or ground? My next question is: is a compound bow the best kind to use? My last question is: is it hard to spot and stalk?

1: I dunno... those new pop-up blinds with the shoot thru mesh seem an aweful lot like cheating to... but I havnt tried em so I wouldnt really know.... It's my understanding that each hae their own pros and cons and each fit different sets of circumstances better. Things such as underbrush, downed trees and how the funnel and trails come together with the "lay of the land" so to speak, and most importantly the wind. These are things that would dictate the better of the two.

2: For a beginner... IMHO, yes. There's more to learn with compounds but with Trad is alot harder and demands alot more practice to master.

3: If you've done it successfully with a rifle, Then you're better prepared for it. But quintruple the difficulty, because the closer you get, the difficulty grows exponentially.

1. I use a ridge wall... its a combination of stand and ground.
2. I'm new as well but I would say that compound bow would be best over a composite or a recurve
3. Dunno... I guess about the same as rifle hunting.

1. IMO blind stable shot for beginners and no angle
2. Yes, it is for beginner reasons but you could go trad in about 7 years and be fine but i would start out compound
3. Possible yea but very hard just stick to stands and blinds is what i would do

1. Either. Both are very simple and just DEADLY on deer. I would say extra precautions need to be taken w/ the blinds, but I wouldn't say one is better than the other. I have both, and hunt from both. Admittedly, I hunt out of my stand far more than the blind.

2. Both trad and a compound will killa deer dead. Dead is dead, no matter how you cut it. I suppose a compound is easier, but if you can shoot a trad good....man, you got it made! RESPECT!!

3.Uh, yeah. Very hard. It's hard enough when you only have to get w/in 150 yards, much less 25!!

1.) Depends on the kind of country you're in. Stands are a drawback here and a bonus in the NE hardwoods.

2.) Depends on how much time and committment you put in to practicing. If you had the time to get good with traditional gear then it'd have the advantage over all the technology but I haven't got the time so I'm still dragging my 7# compound through the mountains.

3.) (See #1.)

Hi Hunting
Welcome to the forums, when it comes to hunting deer some people find it easyer to use a treestand while others like the ground blind better you just have to find what works best for you.

Now when comes to bow's with so many brands out there you gotta get there and shop shop shop.
Go to your local pro shop or Bass Pro even Cabela's for that matter and put one in your hand and shoot it, if it feel good to ya then buy it.

Spoting and stalking is a good way to hunt whitetail just remember you gotta have patience, this type of hunting is a slow process.
As you lightly walk thru the woods you gotta look at everthing for the slightist movement, taking a few steps here trying to be as quiet with every step.
