1.) Depends on the kind of country you're in. Stands are a drawback here and a bonus in the NE hardwoods.

2.) Depends on how much time and committment you put in to practicing. If you had the time to get good with traditional gear then it'd have the advantage over all the technology but I haven't got the time so I'm still dragging my 7# compound through the mountains.
