When I wash my carbon stuff I hang it on hanger on the back porch or in the garage to dry. When dry I spry it down with white lightning or carbon blast and let that dry before throwing it in my rubbermaid tub. In a pinch-like next day hunting-I dry it with earth scent dryer sheets and then hang it oustide overnight after spraying with carbon spray. That has pretty much eliminated the first day post wash problems for me.

I have to say you hear so many tall tales just play the wind. Well when you deer hunt enough deer don't always come they way you want like all these guys say about the wind.

If you want to be a better deer hunter then start doing somekind of scent-control all it can do is help! You will ended up at leastseeing more deer.

Actually, I was talking about regular camo, not Scentlok. I used to spray my regular camo clothes down pretty good with spray and the 2nd or 3rd time out they seemed to work best.

Our recommendation has always been to wash it with carbon wash or non-scented detergent, place directly into a household dryer for 40 minutes, and then directly into a sealed container. The reason I want to point this out to you is that the heat and air movement of the drying cycle is what "desorbs" the activated carbon. You are missing a key step by putting it outside.

If you have any other questions feel free to PM me.

My idea of scent control is not eating beans the night before the hunt......

The 05 season I purchased a Whitewater 3D leafy outfit with windblocker and supprescent.I was amazed at how well the stuff worked.Maybe it was the camo pattern, the supprescent,I dont know but I had deer stand within 5-10 feet from me and had no idea I was there.
I have always practiced scent control, used the sprays, bagged my clothing in cedar, pine or whatever was available in my hunting area, and to be quite honest,I have never had a problem with scent control with my regular, unlined carbon hunting cloths.
I always put my clothing on when I get out of my truck.I dont want the smell of gas, pretty smelling truck deoderizers etc on my cloths.I wear my non-hunting boots in the truck as well and put my hunting boots on when I get to the spot as well.
I believe the carbon lined clothing,of whatever brand keeps your scent in,but the outside of the clothing is the killer of getting busted when the time comes.Thats why you have to take extra precautions on scent elimination.
Playing the wind is one of the biggest factors on harvesting your trophy.BUT,it dosn't always work the way we want it to.If you sit in a tree stand get off the ground as high as you can comfortably, getting your scent as far off the ground as possible.
Purchasing my new cloths gives me a little more confidence on my scent control.I know if I am walking for a period of time and start sweating, and I do my part on control as stated above then it gives me an ease of mind that its the best possible chance I got.
Scent Blocker,Supprescent or whatever product you have the most confidence in isn't a 100% foolproof guarantee, but without all the other variables of scent elimation aren't practiced then its a waste of time and money.
If you feel you should spend the extra cash and purchase a good scent elimation product, and have confidence in it then go for it.Isnt confidence what its all about.

Personally I don't believe carbon lined clothing works more than a few outings in the woods. The key is to take a shower the morning before your hunt, wash down with scent killing soap/shampoo. Always wash your hunting clothes the night before. I think that's the best way to do it until they come out with a silver lined suite.

I am a belt and suspenders guy when it comes to scent control.I don't know if the carbon clothes work, but I do know that they are very expensive. They are also too heavy for me to wear comfortably most of the time. Even the lightweight stuff, because I live in South Florida and hunt in the Big Cypress swamp.

I can't avoid sweating no matter what I do. So I do the next best thing: I wash myself and my clothes in scent free soap; I use a Triclosan based hair and body deoderant; I wear Enduraskin underclothes; I store my clothes in scent free containers withearth cover scent wafers; I spray every piece of equiptment with a scent control spray, treestand, backpack, everything that goes in it, bow, arrows, release, gloves, boots, hat, rangefinder, everything. I don't know if it is all overkill, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't hurt. I have seen a lot of deer close up (considering that I am 25 feet up a tree).Together all these products have a cost, but it is one I can manage, and its not astroubling as seeing a buck running away with his tail in the air.

I have not been busted in the past 3 years since I started being meticulous about scent control, so I believe it works. Maybe deer candifferentiate smells down to 6 parts per million, but there are people pretty near where most deer are anyway. I believe that if you reduce your stink down as much as possible, deer may still smell you andthink you are not close, because the smell is so weak, and not feel threatened. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I don't think i explained my hanging camo outside thing well.

First, I hang just about anything I can outside to dry initially. With carbon stuff, Ido the thirty minute drying with an earth scent dryer sheet after an overnight of air drying outside. Then I spray with carbon blast white lightening brefore storing.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I think the carbonworks better if activated when the garments are already dry.

And everything is always stored in the rubbermaid tub with some dry leaves on the bottom.

I only wash my scent lok suit about 3 times a season. Depending on the weather, if it has been hot I will wash it more. I do run it in a heat cycle for 40 minutes and put it in a huge zip-lok bag with all my other hunting clothes. I do think this stuff works I have had deer close enough to hear them fart. I do believe alot of it has to do with camo pattern. But that is another topic. Buy and if you don't like it sell it on ebay.
