Thanks for all the advice I have obtained from this forum. 1st year bow hunter.
I am hunting on a small farm, approximately 30 acres. I have a good deal of woods and heavy cover between a corn field and a bean field. A great funnel for deer. I have set up on the edge of the woods and the corn field. I am seeing many does, 10-15 each evening but very few bucs and the bucs I have seen are small.
Any idea why I am not seeing big bucs? I know there are some nice bucs around. A hunter Sunday evening pushed a couple bucs to me Sunday. I am mainly hunting in the evenings.
Thanks

Hey Shaggy
It sounds to me like you have a pretty good spot. Don't get discouraged if you're not seeing bucks yet. In a couple of weeks, that should all change. The thing is...you're seeing does, and where the does are hanging around, the bucks will eventually show up. Keep watching those deer and try and learn from them. Becoming too impatient could mess up your whole season if you're not careful.
Enjoy what you have

I think I am going to move my stand to the edge of the corn field and let me current stand stay isolated until the rut starts. I have a feeling that the bucs are moving very late however, I have not seen any rubs or scrapes yet in this area.

We're seeing a similar situation around our farm. We're seeing lots of does every day and several 6 pointers on a regular basis. The bigger 8's & 10's are out there but we only see them every few days. From the way it sounds you're in a pretty good spot. It's just a matter of right place right time. The more time you spend in the woods the better your chances.

Shaggy a reason that your not seeing them big bucks might be because usually them bigger bucks dont travel until later when it is already dark. but just wait till the rut gets here then you will see them
