Having been around here for awhile , I can honestly say that when somebody here tells another they've made a mistake , the "other" gets offended if it was written nice or in your face. To compare those here to the "stoners" in the days of Christ is a little harsh , dont ya think?

Maybe certain things call for sugar coating with sprinkles , this isn't one of them!

[qoute]There is a difference between "you made a mistake," and "what the f*** is wrong with you you dumbs**** a**hole." [/quote]

Can you show me where this was said?

As for fixing this<img src=icon_smile_question.gif border=0 align=middle>

I will only say that it's childish to get up and run away from this electronic campfire for being scolded! It takes a strong man to return and admit to his mistakes and learn from them. Nobody here is going to hold anything against anybody that admits their mistakes.

In High County's thread let me ask you SOONER....What did he and his buddy do right? When were they going to stop shooting at deer? Not only were they shooting at deer before retrieving the first two, but they were taking bad shots. Nobody on this board shoulld apologize for their opinions. There are laws in hunting and there are ethics as well. What they did may or may not have been breaking any laws, but the way his ORIGINAL thread was laid out, they had used poor judgement and little ethics. Like I said in my last post...I'm glad they recovered the deer.

&quot;Comparison to the 'stoners' in the days of Christ is a little harsh&quot;? Honestly BF considering the attitude I saw I don't think it is. BUT if it is and I have caused offense, then let me say, &quot;I am sorry I hurt your feelings.&quot;

I did not intend to imply that someone made that direct statement, that was the ATTITUDE that was conveyed. I just don't think folks were nice. Its the attitude thats offensive.

I agree you make every effort to find the deer. I agree about a lot of the facts and attitudes. Heck, I may have been wrong all along, who knows? Personally your post wasn't quite so bad.

Hey, size may not matter but it sure IS nice!

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote<font size=1 face='Verdana, Arial, Helvetica' id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>I MIGHT NOT HAVE DONE THINGS THE EXACT SAME WAY. YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE EITHER. Let me say you MIGHT not have cause you don't really know until you been the <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face='Verdana, Arial, Helvetica' size=2 id=quote>

Sooner, I have been in his exact situation around 30 times. That is to have arrowed a deer. As i am sure many others here have. i have not once, not even thought about going on and hunting before I have retrieved my deer. I have been there and I know what the only option is - get the deer you shot.

I am making no judgments of HighCountry's Character, only his actions. I don't know about you but I actually got angry as I read the story. I was as tempered as I can be. That sort of irresponsability and disregard for the animals we hunt really gets under my skin. Actions of that sort are a black eye for all bowhunters.

If he was my father, grandfather, son, best friend.... I would of given him much worse.

maybe u r right rack? I don't know what the limit or legality is in WV. If you can only take one a day and you know you hit one then you give him time to bleed out. Anything wrong with the buddy going ahead to hunt?

I know we got a reputation to protect. Guess you were mad and that means you have standards. I do to and that I may applaud. Like I say it was the general tone I objected to. I agree that when I make a mistake its best to own up to it. Momma taught me to do that and its a legacy I pass on to my children (two of them are bowhunters) who hunt with me. Just think some things got lost in the translation. Sometimes I get on the boys overly hard. Then, the apology is about how I got on them, not &quot;that&quot; I got on them.

Thx for the feedback. If you really wanted to hurt the boy make sure everyone buys Matthews, Reflex's, etc.

Didn't say I agreed with him. Nope, no one should apologize for their opinions. Think everything else was covered in my last post.I am glad they recovered the deer and I appreciate this dialogue.

It's not always bad to take a deer, and stay in your stand to take another. Taz had a post about this a couple weeks ago. It's alright to take a deer, and then take another back to back. I'm sure many people in here have done so. But the point is, do it legally. If you have multiple doe tags, and you put as much effort into recovering your harvests as possible, that's great. Or if you have a doe and a buck tag.......shoot a doe, then stay seated and take a buck that's fine too. But make sure you do it responsibly.

James,

You are probably correct, and should only be done if you are certain the first is hit good. This is the first year in my area that we have multible buck tags in our possession at one time, so it has never been legal to do so. That is why shooting another on the same hunt was never an option, and still is not one for me.

I hope in areas where it is legal to do so it is not common practice to unload your quiver through the course of a day then come back to &quot;see what you have shot&quot;. That is the impression I got from the story and that is why i objected.

I guess if you see it go down or know it was a great hit there is no problem in waiting out for another.

I see your point.
