The wool socks should be your last layer, not your first being the one next to your skin. That's the way I read your post, you are wearing the wool next to your skin and the liner on the outside, should be the reverse.

Get a set of ice breaker boot blankets from cabelas($50.00) then put some pillow cases(noise suppresion)over them as the the materialis not quite enough for bow hunting. They sell fleece booties to go over the boot blankets but they are hard to put on when you have all your clothes on whereas the pillow cases slip over them easilyand you can tuck them into the boot blankets. They will be good to about -20 fairenheit when you are onstand.

I use Ice Kings by Lacross rated for -100 and I still get cold. What I did was put one hand warmer in the tip of each boot so my toes are on top of it and now I can sit for a long time with no problem. I hunt in the Up of Michigan so it gets quite cold here and the toes are the first thing to get me out of the stand not anymore. It does help having the Ice Kings due to the extra room inside the boots to fit the hand warmers. I use 4 every day I go out, 2 for the feet and 2 for the hands and they last for 10 hours, perfect for one days hunt in the winter!!!

I'm a vet and have used the mickey mouse boots before. they are the warmest thing on your feet. your feet will sweat though, but never get cold.the traction is not very good as the boot is somewhat rounded on the bottom. i wear size 12 shoes but use 14 in hunting boots just so there is room for my toes and an air pocket. wool socks are my favorite too. get Mickie's a size or two bigger. it takes an air pump to pump them up and they do get tight from expansion.

Smart wool socks,1 pair or toasty toe foot warmers, Rocky boots and an extra pair or footwarmers for later in the day. The last 3 mornings were -13,-11 and 3 didnt get cold feet.

I didsome research on those mickey mouse boots last night they do sound pretty good for cold weather boots. I have Acton Chimo boots which sound and look similiar. Chimo's are the boots used by the canadien military during their artic manuevers(at least that's what they told me), only problem is that I paid a lot more than what those mickey mouse boots cost. I will let my friend know about those MM boots as he suffers from cold feet but did not want to pay the price of chimo's.Thanks for the info.

I wear a thin pair of poly socks with 91% wool socks and 1600 gram thinsulate rubber boots. My feet stay warm. They do eventually get cold from not moving them.
I have been tempted to try the feet warmers in my boots. I bought a box and use them in my hand muffs, but I'm afraid it will make my feet sweat if I put them in my boots.

I had the same problem so I started using the chemical warmers(hothands). I put the warmers in between my base layer and wool socks. The reason your feet won't sweat with these is once your boots are on they pretty much quit gettinghotter. They just stay warm because they aren't introduced to fresh air or they are notbeing shook up. They helped me a lot.

One thing I do is wear regular socks out to the stand and then change into dry socks when I'm in my stand. I also bought some of those boot blankets but haven't had to use them yet.
