I'm tired of a lot of things related to hunting, but not the hunt itself. Around here in Southwest VA the gun season is close to being over. The weather could have been better, too much rain and windy conditions. Temps were a bit cold on some days, but I really got tired of the rain and wind. I could have spent the hours I spent on stand in a more productive way, but not a more satisfying way. I don't have any kills for all of my effort though and I'm a bit frustrated because hard work and dedication is supposed to pay off. I can honestly say I saw some deer, but I couldn't get a clear shot or tell what some of them were.
We still have a late muzzleloader season coming up for 3 weeks starting Dec. 17, maybe my luck will change for the better, but I'm gonna say that this year hasn't been all that spectacular for the people I'm talking too. It seems that the only people who have had any deer that were easy kills are the guys who have the privilege of hunting private land. I'm stuck with the National Forest and its a tough place to be successfull for deer.
I need to buy some of my own land and that's one thing I'm going to make a priority.

I never get tired of hunting. I have gotten tired of killing before and just went hunting to be there. I haven't had the urge to go this year like I have in the past. I guess that's because my wife is sick. She's started to show some pain and things again for the past few days. We always have it in the back of our minds so hunting just doesn't burn for me like it has. I have made plans several times to go this year for a couple hoursbut ended up just hanging out with her. I'll go again someday. Maybe tomorrow. Our gun season is a couple weeks old and I haven't been out yet. It ends next week......I think?????????/
