Are you tired?

Getting very tired. I have put in 300+ hours in the bush this fall and still have 34 days left. Being tired from hunting beats the heck out of being tired from work. Never Give up.
Oh yeah, from experience, stay where the does are.

I definitely get exhausted, physically and mentally. But that does'nt stop me, I'm going out this weekend for the second gun season in ILL. I usually only hunt the weekends, some of those 3 and 4 day weekends
.I gotta find some closer land because the 4 hour drive each way does'nt help.
GUTSHOT, I wear one of those flexible back braces in the stand and it really helps, takes the strain off your lower back. I don't leave home without it.

By the time the gun seasons open in MD, I've logged many hours in a stand. I always take off the last week of Oct and the first two weeks of Nov to hunt the rut and I spend many of those days on dark-to-dark vigils in my stand. This year was even tougher because it was very warm for the entire 3 weeks I took off and the big bucks only moved at night. I still saw deer and took 4 of them, but the big bruisers I know live ther never showed themselves and daytime sightings were WAY down.
It got very tough. Very hard to drag yourself from bed each morning knowing that you'll sit all day in a stand and likely only see early morning and late afternoon sightings of smaller deer. Now that guns seasons have arrived, the sightings will cease altogether for the next 7 or 8 weeks while guns go off all over the woods -- I'm still toting just my bow. . . and YES, I'm tired.

nubowhunter,
I know what you mean. Sometimes I just feel burned out from hunting long hours. I always forget all about it as soon as I see a deer, but on those days when nothing comes by it can be hard to get up the next morning.

Yep pretty beat down hunter here. I've hunted hard everyday since October 15th (minus a couple weather days). Then you factor in alllllllllllllll the preseason work (scouting, stands, trimming, trail cams, etc.... and by the time middle of gun season rolls around it really starts to wear on me physically and mentally.
I'll keep plugging along 110% though. Just got turned onto a new piece of land yesterday. I ran out there and did a quick scouting tour (70 acres). Found a coupld nice funnels and tons of sign. Formulated a pretty good gameplan. I have 2 ladder stands that are useless on my other land that I'm going to move today around noon and hunt it hard. My body isn't too enthused about lugging stands all over the county but hey...........gotta do what ya gotta do.

To answer your question, yes, I am tired, Ive bow hunted almost every day since Sept 15th until Thanksgiving day except Sundays, and, Ive gun hunted from Thanksgiving day until today. I havent added up the days but its well over 60 days of hunting. I have a 60 mile drive each way to and from work and one of the properties (1200 acres) I hunt is another 45 miles one way from home, I hunt at my property and a property accross the street from my house, Ive put 42,000 miles on my 05 F 350 in one year. I really enjoyed myself but Im honestly getting tired but every time I go out I just get all pumped again. I'll be sad when the season is over and happy at the same time as will my wife lol. She is a saint!!

i decided not to take a scentkiller shower this morning so i could sleep an extra 20 miutes. but today was my first chance to hunt with snow on the ground after i got out of my stand, i was freezing, idid a little scouting. i found some big prints where i know a certain buck frequents and followed them right to a funnel i hadnt known about.there were also many more prints at the funnel.so i moved a stand and am going out again now. scent free and warmer.
