The amount varies a lot depending on how close you are to a major city. East coast costs more, etc. Around here, the north east portion of Kansas, it is within an hours drive of three good sized cities, the rate for good solid land is generally $10 an acre per year. Maybe more if the land is actively managed, or if the leasing person is a hunting club. Maybe less if the land is alittle weak or if the lease is for one persononly to use.

Hope this helps.

yea depends on location, here in south east alabama, i've got 200 acres for $8 an acre, and know some florida guys who pay 10 to 12 an acre, close to me.i'm also in a club with around 20 members about 2200 acres, for $650. first year,$550 for each year after that. good luck

Too many variables. Trophy potential of the land, the type of cover available, how many hunters hunt around the land, etc etc.

I wouldnt try to bargain with the landowner much. If there isnt enough public land around, other hunters will outbid you.

Around here (west central IL), you'll pay anywhere from $18/acre to $35/acre. It's real fun...
