When I take a doe that is in estrous, I'll also harvest her uterus - the best lure ever created...

Why would you take a doe's uterus??

I've had luck with knight and hall's lures at wal-mart. cheep too. active scrape works on mock and real scrapes. although i dilute it with my own piss so i have more to use. i like the fresh scents you by seasonly. usually go for $10 bucks for 2 oz and you find them in the freezer/frig at hunting stores in your area. there are about 2-3 different ones I've seen in dick's or gander mt here in Rochester. i also bottle my own when i take a deer and stick it in the freezer for next year.

I've had some luck with Myles Kellers-all season and Docs dbl doe and buck. Tinks 69 runs them off for me. No response from Knight & Hale-Code Blue, Wildlife research, and the rest of mass market crap. I will be experimenting with Mastins All Season and Tarsal 5 on game camera's the next few weeks. Also Mastins various 12 hr scent candles, Docs sweet demise and Kirschners curiosity. As you can see I'm looking for late season responses.

Why would you take a doe's uterus??
- The uterus iscloser to thesource (I believe) for the "attractant pherenome" that the doe secretes when she isat the point in her estrous cycle when she nears a fertile condition. Sincethe pherenomeislikely composed of extremely volitile chemicals (quick to evaporate into the air even under cold conditions), andunstable (likelyto break down into inert components), it's best to harvest the uterusquickly and freeze it for later use.
- The doe's urine, imho,is the just a carrier for the pheronomes (or hormones)that she secretesfrom her sex organs (ovaries??).
- I once used an estrousdoe's uterus(inverted it) and had a mature buck break off a doe chase when heran ~40yds downwind of it. He dida flehmen response, masturbated, and walked stiff-legged all the way up to my doe decoy - 12 yd shot...

AVOID the scents made by Hunter's Specialties. I used them this year and they scared the deer away from my areas. I've used others in the past with no problems.
I have tried the Hunter's Specialies Scent Killer and spooked every deer within 30 yards of my stand last year. I haven't tried their attractants, but judging by the negative response I got using their scent killer, I don't think I'll give any of their products another chance.

This year, I used Tink's 69 gel and dragged a scent to my stand onthe opening day of rifle season.A dandy 7 point walked right up to me, which I killed. It's my nicest deer so far so I plan to continue using Tink's 69 gel.

I've seen monkeys masturbate but never a deer. You'd think that it would be quite painfull cranking on their unit with those sharp hooves!![:-]
Seriously, I use Pete Rickards Indian Buck Lure. I use it as a distractant rather than an attractant. I place it so the deer turns his head away from me when he checks it out. That way you can get a good shot at a stationary deer. I've tried other scents and have scared deer away. I haven't tried very many because I stick to what works for me. BTW, most buck lures seem to scare the does. Maybe after being harrassed by bucks for weeks, they don't wantanything to do with something that will bring more bucks near them?!
