it makes scents to me to save your money and leave that stuff to the professionals. never worked for me. i would use a bottle every day i went out. then i was told i use too much and i used less and still got the same results. im glad to get rid of that smelly stuff.nothing like reaching into your lunch bag with the slight hint of doe pee on your hands [:-]

Obviously there are many, many different kinds of scents out there and ALL claim to be the best thing to make that monster buck prance right in and want to get himself shot! We obviously know that nothing could be farther from the truth! However, over the years of trying different scents I have truly found ONE that honestly does get consistent responses from MATURE animals! James Valley Scents and more specifically, their GEL formulations have performed incredibly well for me. I have had several trophy class whitetails come in and respond to the JVS Wall Hanger Gel and Lethal Weapon Gel. It has become the ONLY deer attractant that I use in any Mock Scrapes or any other scent strategy that I may employee over the course of the season. IF scent will work to truly lure in deer.... this stuff does the trick. As with anything else, don't expect some miracle madness but when used as part of your hunting strategy and when your own scent is reduced and the wind is right.... you can expect that big mature buck that is passing just out of range to come in and investigate! If any of you haven't tried any JVS, I invite you to try just a sample of this product and let me know what you think? Good luck and good huntin'

i use knight and hall scents. cheep and you get more. i cut it with my urine or mix it with urine I've collected from deer and froze. i don't believe you need to spend a lot of money to get scents to work. i use them on scrapes and as drags. i also use them as cover scents. they seem to work fine for me. maybe you smell or just are having a run of bad luck with them. hope it turns for ya bro, good luck.

I can't remember who make them, but they are doe estraus scent waffers. They are rubber discs that you can hang just about anywhere. Last year, my first year bow hunting, I put a couple out. Earlier in the season, before buying them, I'd been seeing several bucks, but do to my inexperience, didn't get a shot at any. Tried the waffers one day and a doe jumps the fence right were it was hanging.....I didn't have my bow in hand, nor did I have good cover so that I could get to my bow, so I just sat there and wachted her waiting for her to pass by so I could get my bow down (important lesson learned that day). Well, she hadn't gotten past a point of cover when a monster jumped the fence right behind her. Boy was he nice....anyway, he was chasing her then all the sudden stopped, turned around and went back to the fence. He stuck his nose right up against the waffer then slowly turned back around and started following that hot doe again. All this time, my bow was still hanging behind me in my stand[:@]!!! I was just too scared that if I moved to get my bow, I'd spook them off forever. Needless to say, I learned a lot from that first year bow hunting. This year they worked again. Put a couple around my tree stand, I thought it was a bit too early in the season, but said what the heck and I got my first buck and first bow kill. He came in nose to the ground....looked like he was on a mission.

Sorry, kinda long winded I guess. I pull them out when I get home and find out who makes them and post again. I get them a Wal-Mart for less then 8 bucks and they are reusable, just put them back in the container and they get their scent back.

Although I've been skeptical with the scents, Tinks #69 worked for me this year. Wasnt sure what to think of it, but sqirted it around my stand on some leaves in the trees since I didnt have any wicks, and thought that at least it might help cover my scent if nothing else, sure as **** though, a 6 pointer walked up and was sticking his nose in the trees very curiously. Wish he woulda been on my other side though so I could havegotten a shot without spoking him. I had to remain frozen as I was sure he would have spooked if I had even flinched....oh well, still have some time left during late season....

Well, I guess that I found one that I'm gonna use again next year. It is G-Bow Powered Synthetic. You spray the stuff while in the stand, and the air currents carry the powder pretty far in. We had a few bucks come into the stands with their nose up. We are pretty sure they were smelling the powder. Anyway, before this, we only had very small bucks interested in scents.

Wildlife Research Center.... Doe Estrus and a bleat can called in the giant I missed during bow season. I was shaking so bad I think I was making the leaves come off the tree.

Still Steamin Buck Semen and doe estrous, combo package. Over the past 12 years Ive used Tinks, James Valley, Code Blue, etc etc .... but this year I usedthis Still Steaminsemen and estrous stuff for the first time and shot4 of my 6 bucks off of my scent wicks. I have never believed in scents until this year even though I always tried different brands, but Ive never had the success I did this year with any other brands. Maybe it was pure luck but 2 of the bucks actually came charging in so I was a believer from then on. Good luck in your choice.
