Boy, this post is gettin excitin

I too don't think the photo is real. On that note, anyone who takes this type of shot in a hunting situation isn't someone I'd like to associate myself with. Showing that much disregard and lack of respect for an animal is wrong. No wonder the animal rights people are constantly knocking on our door.

You really need to take a step back and chill. People hunt diffrently, just because its not just like you doesn't mean its wrong. I believe hitler did quite a similar thing as you. Trying to banthings because he didn't agree. You don't have to agree with any of it, but your idea of banning it is bull. This is america, with freadoms especially of speach. You probably think anti-hunters are idiots, and i'm sure there are alot of hunters on here that probably think your "all american give the deer the best fighting chance possible and only do whats absolutley ethical" is just as stupid. And that hunting style isn't putting meat on the table. And i don't believe handb274234 is all of too wrong nor have i ever seen him say he was an outfitter. To question his skills w/o even knowing him shows how stupid people really are. And to make accusations against him is just as stupid. Can't we all be friends??

For one it's illegal to kill a deer with a field point. It is not a good shot to take with a bow period. The one guy said if it's the only shot he had he would take it. If you only had a shot at the foot or the rear end would you take it? Just because you can hit the deer somewhere on it's body doesn't mean you should. Why try to prove your some super stud hunter and take a head shot. So much can go wrong with a shot like that. A guy I know wanted to kill a deer with a head shot with his bow. I tried to talk him out of it but he did it anyway. A small yearling came in and he shot it and he hit it across the bridge of the nose. He said the nose just dropped down and the deer started running around in a circle bawling and licking its nose. He was lucky he was able to get a second shot into the lungs and put it down. He said he felt bad watching the deer after the hit and he would never try that again.

If you can't respect an animal more than that then your hunting for the wrong reasons. If you said this is a good shot then you should ask yourself some questions. Does the fact that the deer died justify taking that shot with a bow? Do you care this is a low percentage shot? The fact is if you take this shot you just don't care and you shouldn't be hunting until you learn what your doing.

The foot and rear end are not kill shots unless you shoot it directly in the rectum, the head is.

The foot may not be a killing shot but the rear end is. There are large arteries that run down the back leg. If you hit these they will die very fast. Is it the right thing to do? NO...because it's a small target and more things can go wrong. I can shoot an arrow into the eyes blinding a deer then go over and club it to death and no meat will be lost. Is it right to do? Why don't 3D targets have a 10 ring on the head? Why would anyone even argue a head shot is a good shot(most of all with a field tip as in the photo)with a bow is beyond comprehension. Either you just like to start crap or your some macho he-man with something to prove or you have NO respect for the animal. The guys who would do this are the same guys who are slob hunters who don't care about game laws or the animal and would do anything to bring home their deer.
