For me it's the suspense .

Ironically , it's also what I love most about it .

Lack of sleep

When you wake up at 0 dark thirty , pack everything in the truck , drive miles to your favorite hunting spot. Get to your hunting spot , everything looks and feels just right. Get all your gear on , strap your stand to your back , grab your bow & arrows and head out to your spot. Arrive at your tree , everything still feels perfect for this hunt. Hook up your climber to the tree , tie your bow to your pull up rope , start climbing up the tree as quietly as possible. Get to your desired height , settle in the stand , screw in your bowholder to the tree , pull up your bow , nock an arrow and hang your bow. You sit down thinking to yourself o.k. this isn't too bad , I'm not too sweaty after the climb , everything still feels perfect for this hunt. Just as you see the sun breaking through the eastern horizon you get that deep rumbling in the pit of your stomach , only a little further south of the border.
Now that has to be the worst thing about hunting.I think we've all been there. If you haven't , your days coming so remember to bring toilet paper.
