Cheap = Noisy, not comfortable, here in MI deer spook easy. I have always thought tree stand setup is they most important part of Hunting. No matter how good of shot you are, how scent free you are, or how much camo you have. If your treestand is nosiy or you stick out like a sore thumb from the tree. It makes it very hard to take a whitetail.

Gorilla stands work great I like the Aluinum brand. I also use the King Lounger for long morning hunts.

Just out of curiosity how come you don't want a climber?
I had one in the past and it was a pain when I didn't have a tree of the same diameter. I hated readjusting the stand.
