No wonder bow hunters get such a bad rap from gun hunters etc. What a bunch of whiners. If you cant stand the competition from others thathave every right to share the woods with you then find a new spot or just take your ball and go home to pout. I really dont think most of you are as concerned about the safety issue as you are that some squirrell, duck, dove hunter is going to screw up YOUR hunt. Ever think that you might flare a flock of geese or ducks away from a decoy spread when you are walking out? You better learn to get along and play nice. Whining about others that dont share your blinded passion for bowhunting doesnt do anyone any good.

I agree with James Vee and fletch.....and believe it or not I am a avid bowhunter.....if you are worried about a few pellets from a scattergun flying around....i sure hope you are not in a tree with a rifle in Nov.!!!!!!!!!

You got to be kidding me Kevin. How is a bowhunter going to mess up a gunhunter? A bowhunter can be all set to draw back on a deer when Boom, a gun goes off close by and sends the deer to the next county. Now when a gunhunter is set to shoot and a close by bowhunter lets loose an arrow is the gunhunters deer going to be spooked out to the next county? Doutful.

If you're bow hunting during any season shared with guns you have to expect some noise . If you don't like guns going off while you're bow hunting then wait until a "bow only" season . Not much brain work to do there Rick . BTW , wen a gun goes off it spooks them for gun hunters too .
Our squirrel and several other firearms based seasons come in well before our archery seasons even begin , and several of them overlap both the early and late archery seasons . We've learned to adapt and coexist .

now , let's see....a total of 6 days to bow hunt.......then let's go to the dove hunt, you have the 12 days during small game and then the 6 from archery that can be hunted......total of 18 to 6....looks like the dove hunters are favored just a tad...........really don't think that is fair odds at all.....why are they given so many days and the archery hunters not...i do believe if anyone is selfish , it would be them, lol.......yes that selfish comment bugged me......lol..........i think thay should let us bow hunt deer during the 12 days of dove hunting when we can't....without a quota permit, like the dove hunters.....now they need to make it fair for all hunters wouldnt ya think?

Who said anything about the bow hunter messing up the gun hunter's shot ?
BTY, I'll share the woods with anyone, it doesn't bother me, I was just throwing in some insight if you look back at my very first reply. I get tired of having to come back to most every thread and defend one's self because everyone wants to tear apart what someone else thinks. Geeeeeezzzz.

Ill,
During any firearm season aren't both the gun hunter and the bow hunter supposed to wear Orange?

I dont think i am whining at all, i'm voicing my opinion

, i never once said i would get all bent if a gun hunter came my way because it'll probably be a cold day in hell if they came out to where i hunt, that's not an issue.yes there's that chance of them screwing up someones hunt, but not mine....the main reason for the way i feelARE the safety issues.......really don't appreciate being bashed for my views, they're mine and i wanted to share them and see how others thought......blinded passion for bowhunters, i think not.........i'm passionate about ALL hunting, even if it interferes or interupts my hunting.......and they only harvested like 120-130 dove last year....that's not alot of dove hunting......they let 25 folks come in, not good odds...shooting everywhere, it was kinda comical, they couldn't hit the broadside of a barn, the one group even had to go buy shells, lol.....none were taken during archery, not everyone knows about the rule...i'm not worrying about it, it won't effect my hunt, but i still find it unreal that they'd do this....for reasons i stated....

No one[&:]. I was giving an example of it working both ways but I guess it flew right over your head like the shotgun pellets

My point is still valid , I don't believe that the gun hunter and bow hunter can't be out at the same time , and obviously the F&G authorities don't either or the seasons would be exclusive to the weapon . If you don't want guns going off while you bow hunt then stick to an archery only season .

I didn't read every post on this thread, so maybe I am missing something.
In the areas I hunt, squirrel season comes in the same time as archery does, and pretty much always has. I'm fairly certain this happens in alot of states....at least around here.I honestly don't see what the big deal is. I've had to deal with that for years. Of course I hunt private land, so I haven't had much problem. If I hunted stricktly public land, and got overrun by small gamers each time I went out, I woudn't be real fond of it I'm sure.
