Regardless of the elevation thing, not bending at the waist is why many people see their point of impact change when they shoot out of a treestand. That generally has a much larger effect that the physics of the distance.
When stand huting, I normally draw with the bow level then bend after I am at anchor. This keeps me from screwing up and dropping my bow arm.
