Does It Really Matter
I am Shooting at ground level and im grouping at 25yrds 2 in groups i figure thats decent but i heard elevation plays a big role on shots i know that phisicsd and gravity has a less effect on the arrow but i only climb about 25 to 30 feet. my bow site has eleation settings but should i even mess with it?

RE: Does It Really Matter
Shoot from an elevated position and bend at the waist. 25-30 feet is very high actually. You must shoot to know how where you hit.

RE: Does It Really Matter
Yeah you should shoot if you hunt at 25-30 feet. You should always make sure it hits where the right spot from a tree-- but I usually am only 15 feets off the ground and have never had a problem. Make sure you bend at the waist instead of just dropping your bow arm.

RE: Does It Really Matter
Set up your treestand at the height you intend to shoot from. Take numerous shots with broadheads to simulate your actual hunting conditions. This will give you an idea of what should happen when hunting.

RE: Does It Really Matter
As said above practice how you hunt. If you hunt from a stand practice from a stand if you hunt in a pop up blind practice in a pop up blind etc. And as the season gets closer practice in your hunting clothes.

30 Ft high treestand
!!! The air must be thin up there you might want to bring some oxygen with you up the tree. |
RE: Does It Really Matter
Personally I wouldn't use the elevation settings though I would practice at the height you plan on hunting from. It was an eye-opener for me last summer.

RE: Does It Really Matter
You hunt from ONLY 25 to 30 feet? That's 10 to 15 feet higher than the average. What do you do to get your nost to stop bleeding? How can you get a consistent anchor with that oxygen mask in the way?

RE: Does It Really Matter
As everyone else said, practice from an elevated position.
Don't forget to bend at the waist; ![]() |
RE: Does It Really Matter
That's very high - is there a reason you're that far up?
