I recently purchased a couple of cuddeback digital game cams and was wondering what tips people had on how and where to set them up. should I use corn or something else to lure game in front of my cam? thanks

I like to set mine up in travel lanes but not in the funnels I hunt. I like to get an idea of what is coming through but I don't want to tip of the animals to my prefered stand locations.

Setting up a cam over a bait pile is also a good way to obtain pics if it's legal where you are.

If you just want pictures of deer, and it is legal, then putting out corn will do the trick.

If you are wanting to use the camera to help you scout, I would shy away from the bait.

Use your scouting instinct to locate what you consider travel corridors and set your cameras up in these areas. This will give you a good indication of the numbers of deer using your property as their summer home range. Move your cameras and try different areas....even those you don't necessarily think are, but could be, good spots.

Your cameras can really help you learn about how deer travel through your hunting territory which should pay off for you come fall.

Good Luck...

I use vanilla extract I buy a big bottle a wally world then use an old contact saline bottle and filler up with vanilla and squirt vanilla extract about 10 to 12 feet in front of the cam to get pics like this: (I dripped vanilla on the stick in front of him when I put the cam out)
