I will be picking up my new liberty on friday. I cant make up my mind on what sights. Here is the rig so far: 04 Bowtech Liberty 27 draw at 70lbs
Trophy Ridge Drop zone rest
Doinker 4 " stabalizer
sims ultras for the limbs
undecided on the sights and peep.
I want good sights and dont mind spending what I have to to get them. However I dont want to spend $150.00 for hogg it sights if $60.00 copper john dead nuts are just as good!! I am currently considering ( but would still consider others)
Spott hogg right on
copper john hunter
trophy ridge matrix
also what size pins for hunting, should I consider the .19 or stay with the .29 Thanks for all help Bill

Many good sights can be had for less that 100$. You've got a good list started to look at. I'd also recommend Vital bow gear vertical sights. I own a trapper and absolutely love it. It's a high quality well built sight.
As for pin selection, I'd suggest sticking with a sight that has a .0029 pin for hunting. I'n low light you'll probably want as much "glow" as you can get. If you are shooting competition or 3-d you may want a smaller .0019 pin for longer distance shooting.
Hope my opinion is helpful....

As mentioned above, you've got a heck of a list there. I'll cast a vote for the TR Matrix. I've used TR's ViPin sights since there introduction and absolutely love 'em. Great hunting sights!!!

The Copper John Deadnuts Pro is my sight of choice. I like the .019 pins a little better personally. I am a little more accurate with them b.c the pins cover up less of the target. Especially at longer distances. As far as seeing the pins at dusk, CJ makes a light called the afterburner that screws into the housing. Its around $15. It works great for the last 10 minutes or so of legal shoot.
For a peep, I like the fletcher tru peep. (hunter size) Minimal speed loss and turns perfect every time if you use a loop.
Have fun with your new set up!

Out of those three I would choose the copper john.
Spott Hog makes good sights but I don't like how they have their pins angled.
Another one you should seriously consider is the Dusk Devil from Montana Black Gold. The straight away pins are really bright and they instantly tell you if you are torquing your bow in the slightest. The entire sight, including the pins, is covered by a lifetime warranty. I bought this one a few months ago and really like it.
As for pin size I personally like .019" pins. I can be more precise at longer distances and I still get plenty of brightness from the straight pins.

I recently switched from an Impact Archery to the Trophy Ridge, But I purchased the Flatliner instead of the aluminum sight housing. The Zytel that the flatliner is made from is more impact resistant...and I quote "...given the same force of impact the aluminum housing would probably break or crack where as the plastic one will have some give to it..."
This is an excerpt from a conversation I had with a Trophy Ridge Tech over the phone before I made my purchase, questioning the "main" differences between the Matrix and the Flatliner. I don't care if the sight is camo and didn't want to spend the extra money on extras that do nothing to improve the performance.
Best of luck w/ the new bow!

I have the Spott Hogg Real De4al on my BowTech Patriot Dually and it seem's to be just fine but I also have a Impact Archery Cosmic and I'd also give the Impact Archery Cosmic trio a good look Impact Archery make's some of the brightest sight's on the market and aren't too awfully expensive. I'd go with the .029 pin for hunting .
I like the Spott Hogg but I think I'll be going back to the Cosmic for hunting because it is by far the brighter of the 2 sight's.
