Opinions wanted on Hoyt bows
#11
I got a smokin deal on a magnatec off the net a couple years back. For the money it is a great bow. I' m shooting 178 fps and have had no problems. I recently felt the razortec and it feels great but it' s just way out of my price range. You gotta look at what you want to spend and go from there. The hoytusa website can give you all the details on all the new and older bow models. HOYT all the way!!! JDinAB

Will a Razortec go to a 31" draw length? On the Hoytusa site it appears that it will but on an add selling a Razortec the owner states 27 - 30 inch draw. Does it take a different cam to reach 31" ? Thanks for all the opinions and help.

After thinking about it for a LONG time and shooting several makes and models of bows, I bought a Razortec. It was expensive, but I hang on to my bows for a long time and take good care of them, so it seemed reasonable to get the best since it will be with me quite a while! If you read comments that are made by a lot of archers here, you will find NOTHING BUT POSITIVES made by Razortec owners. That factored into my decision.

speaking of deals i just bought a 2000 model hoyt magnatec from a guy at my school for 150 bucks. when he bought the bow and all the stuff with it the cost was close to $600. he shot it four times and did not like it so it was just sitting in his closet. the other day he asked me if i would be interested in buying it , since i was in the market for a steal i said hek yea. i just went and got some brand new ICS 400 carbons and the bow shoots 260 fps. i have $200 bucks in a great bow, it is so quiet that it is unbelievable, i would definetly recomend it!! i love mine.

[:' (] Drove to Oklahoma City . After speaking to someone there about shooting All three top hoyt' s Razortec Cybertec and Ulratec. I went this Shop. Because they said they would set the bows up with sights and rest. After driving 250 miles from Arkansas. They said they would only put on a a rest. They put on a whisker bisquit. woooo hooo. They would not crank up the wieghts on the bows. They said that they would only set them up to 50 pounds. But would change the setting when purshase was made. I even told the salesman that I wanted to walk out with one of the bows after shooting the three. I told the salesman that I was going to make up my mind up. The salesman never came back to talk to me while waiting. Well to make a long story.. Short I still have my 1200.00 Dollars to set up a bow.. After I found out that he left to go get a Sandwich. Shot.. I would of bought him a Steak if he would helped out. Still no Bow.. looks like I' ll just buy local from Nathan Brooks......

Theres absolutely nothing wrong with buying bows off ebay! You can get awesome deals. Do your homework and check out the sellers ratings and ask any questions about the bow before bidding. The sellers want to do everything possible to please the buyer so their not gonna sell you a damaged bow. Alot of the sellers on ebay that are selling archery equipment are proshop owners.

Thanks for all the comments and help. I got a 2002 Hoyt Cybertec on Ebay last week and should have it real soon. It has the XT200 limbs with versa cam. I also have an Impact Archery Collector site coming and an Alpine Archery Soft Loc quiver and a Quicktune 4000 rest. With what I saved by buying last years slightly used model instead of this years new cam 1/2 model I could put the extra towards all the accessories and this should be all the bow I' ll need for several years. I got the bow for $327 which I thought was a pretty decent price. All I still need is a stabilizer and a peep which I' ll probably take off my old Buckmaster bow.
