I haven' t seen any posts on the LX so I thought I would give it a little bit of time. My local bowshop got one in and I had the chance to shoot it side by side with the Legacy. Wow, what a sweet bow. It was very fast and had the typical Mathews dead feel to it. It did have a tiny bit more shock than the Legacy, but not enough to make any real difference. It was well balanced, similar to the Legacy. Although the literature says it is only 1/10 of a pound lighter, it seemed easier to manuever. The brace height scared me before I shot it, but I didn' t mind it at all when I was shooting it. Finally, we put a few arrows through the chrony with it and it was fast. We were shooting 375 grain arrows with a 30" draw, at 68 lbs. with a Fletcher peep installed on the string and measuring the arrow speed at 308 fps. I know this isn' t Black Max or Super Tec kind of speed, but it was still impressive. I was trying to decide whether to buy a Legacy or an LX and the shoot pushed me to put money down on a LX. I wished I could have spent more time with it, but it was headed to a banquet right after I put it down. Now I am one of those that is anxiously awaiting the arrival of my LX.

By the way, I shot the Razor Tec and the Super Tec side by side with it and for me the Mathews has a much better feel. For me to convert to Mathews is a big deal, I have shot Hoyts my whole life...no more.

I have an LX on order and was thinking about selling it. I have a Razor Tec and a Cyber Tec. I was so impressed with Hoyt that I thought I would abandon Mathews.

My advice is that if you like your Hoyts and have shot a Legacy and still like your Hoyts, don' t pursue a Mathews. For my personal taste, shooting them side by side, I prefer the Mathews--both the Legacy and the LX to any of the Hoyts I shot. In the end, however, your preference is the only one that matters.

I agree. But, I already ordered the bow and cannot cancel.

If I don' t like it, I will let it go at the end of the summer.

I own a Razortec and have shot the LX in the shop. They are 2 totally different feeling bows. Personally, I can not stand the agressive drawforce and lack of valley on the LX. The LX I shot had a very discernible vibration in the grip. Additionally, and this may only be with the shop I frequent' s demo LX, but the string (not the serving) is being gouged at the after about 200 shots. I know they were not happy to see it because they had to add serving to the Legacys last year to strengthen the string where it came in contact with the cam. Again, that may be only specific to their demo bow, but it is something to keep an eye on.

If given a choice between the Legacy and the LX I would go with the Legacy. If given the choice between the Legacy and the Razortec (which I did have) I went with the Hoyt.

I just bought a used 2003 Cyber Tec and love that bow as well.

I imagine the LX will be my last Mathews and not make it past the summer.

I just got mine yesterday. I really can' t imagine another bow being ,that much better !! If any !! It is an awesome bow and I' ll post more info after I paper tune it ,chrono it , and shoot it some more !! I will list the only negative I have found so far.......... if you set it at 65 % you can not creep , ANY !!! At 80 % it is not bad !! Besides that, I think the the combination of no vibration, quietness,speed,accuracy,and overall feel , it is about the best bow I have ever shot. It is actually a little faster than my Ultra2 .

Is it better than a new Hoyt or Bowtech ?........I have no idea, but I have no need to go looking !! I' m very pleased with this bow !!

Oh yeah, does anyone know if there is anything different besides the color on the new white/brown Zebra strings ?

Lucky you. I am still waiting to see mine. I just called the shop this morning and they still have not received their big shipment of bows. Let me know how it goes with tuning it and what accessories you have on it.

I am currently into a simplifying trend and all I have on it is a Tru-peep, string loop, Impact Cosmic sight, Wisker Biscuit, and a Sims Enhancer 2000 stabilizer - that I am having trouble figuring out if it helps any on this bow !
It shoots so good that I doubt I' ll add anything else , although I just got my NAP brochure and the new drop away designed for the roller guard Mathews, looks good !! I definately think limbsavers would be a waste of money and string silencers could arguably be !!

I would imagine you could order a winners choice or another Zebra string from Mathews in any color you want. I thought the white and brown looked pretty good myself.

I made brown and green string and cables for my Hoyt and they look great. I have a buddy with green and bronze on his hoyt and they look great also.
