Thank you guys for the input. I went yesterday shot both again and came home with a Guardian. Both nice bows but the Guardian felt better to me. Thanks again.

I am sure you would not be disappointed with the Guardian. In my opinion, I feel Bowtech didn't gain any ground this year with the General.
The Guardian is one heck of a quiet bow, has pretty good speed and you'll get quite attached to it in a hurry.
Just a note, remember to loctite the bolts on the two modules and also the bolts on the center pivot limb caps. They (center pivot limb cap blots)can/will loosen after some shooting and can cause alot of pain if it isn't caught in time.
Congrats and enjoy your new bow.

The center pivot cap bolts should be tightened similar to scope rings, snug not wrenched tight. Mine have never loosened in a year of shooting. Also regarding the General and the Guardian, I'm not sure Bowtech was trying to Gain anything huge. They took the quietest, least Hand shock design and made it even more so and offered it in a Shorter A to A. I'm not a fan of Short A to A bows but there are many that Loved the Tribute, and will Love the General even more. I Love my Guardian and the tad extra speed and A to A I get with it, but I'm rigging my General for Spring Turkeys! It should be the ticket.

I have flipped back and forth a few times from the guardian to the general and back again. Problem is I cant find a general or a 2008 guardian. I figure which ever one I get my hands on first will be the one I buy......but then I probably find them both at the same shop and still be in the same situation.

I've had my center pivot limb cap bolts loosened and I know of a few others who've experienced the same thing on theirs. Nothing major (unless of course then come completely loose), but these bolts should be checked along with all the other checks we need to do before setting up on a hunt/practise.
As to what I meant by 'gaining ground'--I would imagine every company project going with something 'newer and better' every year, it's progress, improvement and growth.
My personal opinion tells me that the 2008 General has not really 'improved' compared to the 07 Guardian. I think for 2008the changes, such as the roller guard/shortstop fell short as the vane clearance is awfully close to the cables. For the shortstop, the string slap is added noise. The bottom cams on the General 'appears to have a slight cam lean to the rightat static state of the bow' and the longer brace height of 8.25" doesn't help a shooter who has a short draw length and has limitations with his/her draw weight.
The draw stop lock washer leaves ugly marks on the cam when adjusting it from hole to hole and on a new bow this does not look good--at least for me.
I am sure they could have done a better job here.
Nevertheless I will certainly say the shootability has improved (thanks/no thanks to the shortstop).
Of course,if changes can be made, say going back to a 7.125" BH, addressing the noise of the shortstop, etc for 2009, I would say then, 'progress' is evident.
Let me also add here as it isvery important, I am justexpressing "my opinion" of the 2008 General--As I own one of these bows ( maybe not for much longer) but certainly wasn't as happy as when I changed from, the Libertyto the Tribute to the Allegiance to the Guardian.
For "ME" the switch to the General was disappointing, and I've given my reasons why.JMHO.
