I am finally in the market for a new bow. I have shot many of the new bows and believe that I am going with the Vectrix. My question is a couple of the bow shops where I live are getting out the Hoyt market and another Hoyt dealer wouldnt even let me shoot it. They say they are having a tough time getting parts and such. Has anyone else heard this? Also, I know Mathews has a lifetime guarantee, does Hoyt offer the same? Thanks in Advance!!

If they won't let you shoot it.....they have other reasons.....Walk and go somewhere else....Yes, Hoyt has a lifetime warranty.

I did go somewhere else and shoot it. The owner of the shop said hes never lost a sale in 20 something years because of this. I felt like telling him he just did. His theory was that once you get all the extras on it that they dont shoot the same anyway.

I also know of two shops that are getting out of the Hoyt business and stocking only Mathews, Bowtech and a few others.

I think they are going to loose some major bussiness.I shot severial new bows last night and the vectrix was the sweetest.The guardian was nice,smooth and quiet but what a pain to work on. Needing to dissassemble the limbs just to change a string.Another great bow was the reflex Ridgeline,light,smooth ,quiet.The dealer even new I was not a solid buyer trying to decide which was the best for me.Infact I did not ask to shoot the bows.He ask me if I would like to try a few out.Now he has planted the seed,I'm thinking real hard about buying a new bow.

I had one my loal bow shops do the same thing to me. I went there to buy a new sight for my bow and we started talking about bows and he told me I needed to shoot some before I leave. Needless to say about 2 weeks later I went back and purchased a new bow from him even though the bow I had was 3 months old at the time. This is just my opinion, but I didn't see what all the hype was with Hoyt bows. I shot the Vectrix and Trykon and I wasn't that impressed with them. I feel there are better bows on the market than Hoyt. If I had to choose from the Vectrix or Trykon, I will choose the Vectrix.

I agree about the hype. That is advertising for ya.I thought the vectrix was the smoothest,quietest,and most shock free that I shot,but dollar for dollar,there are some very good bows out there for alot less money. I've never been a top of the line shooter myself,but the frezzer is full of deer.

Tough call for a shop to drop Hoyt. It is ridiculous to not let you shoot a bow by the way! If the excuse is that he can't get parts, I'm not sure how that applies to not being allowed to shoot a bow you plan to purchase.
