I recently went to the local Gun Shop to buy some 209 primers . They told me that Winchester is going to be coming out with special lower power 209 primers for Muzzleloaders. Until then, he stated that they(Win.) recomended to use .410 shotgun primers. Anyone try these?

I just punched up Winchesters web site and they still only make 1 type of 209 shotgun primer .
They package it for muzzel loaders differently than what they sell for shotgun reloading, but it's the same primer.
Did the salesman try to sell you a different brand ? If he did I bet he was just trying to move a primer that dosn't sell well.
But Winchester may be coming out with a new primer.
IMO use the standard Win. 209 they have worked for me for years.

JAM66,
As far as I know the only company making a 410 primer was Remington. they made a 209-4, but have stopped production. Talking to the folks in the trap club it seems pretty unanimous that the regular CCI-209 is the mildest of all 209 shotgun primers.
When I run out of 209-4's I will return to using Cheddite primers. I used them a couple of years before switching to the 209-4's and they worked really well. They might even be a bit milder than CCI
Do not get CCI-209M's...

just about all 209 primers are about the same except magnum 209's are hotter for magnum shotshells and theres no reason to use a magnum 209 in your muzzle loader if you want a to know which one is the lowest power 209 primer its the CCI 209 primer. All 209 primers are the same size because 209 means its a .209" dia. primer. So any 209 will work in a 209 primed muzzle loader but if you are looking for a low powered 209 the CCI 209 is your ticket. I dont think winchester would come come out with a lower powered primer...... because it would more then likely cause some confusion in the shotshell reloading world. I also know that some 410 loads use a magnum primer because a 410 uses a slow burning pistol powder that might need a little extra heat to ignite but most 410 loads use standard 209 primers. even if winchester made a 410 primer It wont be necissarily a lower powered primer but more likely a hotter primer.
