thanks for the links guys. So basically you get 50 shots (including sabots) for around $25.00 plus shipping.

And would you say they are as good as Barnes Tez all copper? The T-ez load nice in my Omega. But they are $35.00 for 24 pack.

With the exception of .40/200 grain XTP's in my .45, all I've used for hunting with my fast twist barrels have been 250 or 300 grain Deep Curls. I just can't see the need for anything else at my 175 yard maximum range. They perform on a par with the best premium bullets (Barnes, Nosler Partitions, etc.) and better than any non-premium. Even the .40/200 XTPs will likely be replaced with 40/180 DC's next season.

I do not know that i would go that far... Deep Curls to me are a poorman's Nosler Partition.

I would put all copper Barnes, Nosler Partitions, and Lehigh/bloodlines in another class above the Deep Curls, but the Deep Curls are much more economical and nearly as effective. Where you might or would see the difference is in a marginal shot which can occur once in awhile no matter what we do.

Sorry I didn't post the pic. But now its fixed. I'm just impressed at the accuracy at 200 yards and even 300 yards. My Triumph is probably my second most accurate gun and second with range. If the chorny will prove my data I wouldn't hesitate to shoot 300 yards for a deer but I don't know about the energy for an elk. That metal targe was sure moving. Never thought a muzzleloader could do what its doing now.

If your shots are not over 150 yds, just go with the Deep curls, there a darn tough bullet for the money.price VS performance there numero uno in my book.Ray

Sabotloader,

Thanks for the great post.
Thats a strong arguement for the deep curls.
I was just sharin my experiences with the XTP,however I have read about XTP's fragmenting.
Looks like I need to try the Deep Curls in my gun.

To me it seems this is some optimistic. Not totally unreasonable, but optimistic. More like 1950, or less during the typical hunting season temperatures. Of course all lots of powder, all rifles, and all chromometer are not the same.

Ok. That makes sense. What I do is practice with xtp's out to 150 yards. And I also shoot ground hogs with them at that distance. But I use the Barnes for 200-225 yard practice. And I use them to harvest deer now. I also would like to know what the new T/C shockwaves with the blue plastic tip would do? The package says bonded but not all copper.

They (t/c with blue tip) would cost me $1.13 per shot with sabot. Where the Barnes (T-ez) cost me $1.48 per shot with sabot's.

I was hoping to find a cheaper compromise with the deep curl.

But I have a feeling when hunting my confidence will be with Barnes...lol

You can't go wrong with a Barnes and like mulie mentioned you can always buy a cheaper bullet of the same weight and impact point to practice with if need be!Ray

A couple of weeks ago, i was playin' around with the 300g Deep Curl at what turned out to be 271 yard measured by the laser.

From my experience using the Deep Curl bullet on deer, water jugs, and paper; 150 yard is definitely not an upper limit. I won't hesitate to shoot at deer twice that distance. Just be prepared to see a lot of tissue damage, when you open up your critter.
