Well, I halfway like them and halfway don't. I've gotten a few good deals there. Like I bought a Burris 3x9x40mm scope with the free Garmin eTrex GPS for $199.99 when it was on clearance. I've gotten a few other things at decent prices on sale. However, 95% of the time their prices seem super high. As in stuff you can get at Wal-Mart is way way more at Dicks. Like Hoppes 9 for $2.99 at Wal-Mart was like $4.99 or $5.99 at Dicks. I think it was $5.99. Targets I use are $4.99 at Wal-Mart and like $8 or something around there at Dicks.

Ours does have muzzle loading stuff. Tripple 7 pellets are like quite a few more dollars than the local gun store I buy them from. Wal-Mart when they have them is even more than the gun store however, still a fair bit cheaper than Dicks. The one and only thing I've seen regularly priced at Dicks that's a good deal is the Powerbelt bullets I shoot. They are $16.99 or something at Dicks for I think it's 20. At Wal-Mart when they have them they were $19.99 or $18.99 or something for like 16. It was more than Dicks for less bullets. The Gunshop had the 20 bullet packs but were also $19.99. Dicks still hasn't raised their price. It's the only thing I've seen cheaper their than Wal-Mart.

Wal-Mart is almost always cheaper and usually by quite a bit. However, at the same time Wal-Mart has a limited selection where as at Dicks you are a lot more likely to find what you want. They sell shot gun chokes, more types of ammo, more guns, year round muzzle loading supplies instead of just around muzzle loading season, etc.

dicks is good because they always have 10$ off 50$ purchase coupons and clearance treestands at the end of the year for great prices. other than that its all about sneakers and tennis raquets.

The only time I got to this store is when they put ammo on sale, like shotgun shells. Other then that, it doesn't help us hunters and shooters much.

I am lucky enough to have a Bass Pro Shop, Ganders, and a couple of great local outdoors stores like Green Top and Dances. I'm a damn Yankee living here in Virginia and lovin' it.

I used to work at Galyan's sporting goods in Overland Park KS and it was a pretty decent sporting goods store with a large selection of hunting and fishing gear. When Galyan's was bought out by Dicks in 2003 or so, the store transformed from a place I would regularly frequent for my outdoor gear, to a place for soccer moms and golfers [:'(]. Thank god I have a Cabela's within 3 miles of my house and a Basspro shop within 2 miles (not to mention another larger Basspro 15 miles away). I don't know what I would do without them
