favorite loads 54 renegade?

Default favorite loads 54 renegade?

I think its a 1/48 twist.will be using 777 3f to start

The Renegade is a good roundball shooter. It likes a strong load. 85 grains of 3f T-7 would be my guess. Also T-7 will sometimes burn patches so you might beed a wad. But try it.

They also shoot conicals, powerbelts and sabots. All you can do is play with different loads and see if the rifle likes them or not.

I always shot 100 gr Pyrodex RS and a 430 gr maxiball in mine. Devastating on deer and very accurate.

I gave up on 777 and went to real BP in my .54 due to unpredictable hangfires.Not pleasant with a steel butplated Renegade.Havn't had one since even leaving it loaded a month.[minus the cap of course]I didn't find real BP any harder to clean than 777..........................Harold

I like Goex pinicale 85 gr with a 444 powerbelt in my Lyman Deer Stalker 54 cal.

I had a early 54 flinter renegade t/c shot hornady RB and goex 3F 95 grains with a wad under the patced RB
I could on good days clover leaf 3 shots at the 100 yard target.
