I have a Rem Mdl 700 in 223 with a 24" barrel. I am starting to reload for my 223 and i want to know what your davorite load is. I was thinking of using 26 grs of Hogdon Varget, Remington primer, 55gr Nosler Ballistic Tips, and some remington brass. What do you think of this??

Every gun likes one load better than another...my .223 likes 24gr. of IMR 3031 useing a 55gr bullet. Experement and have fun...<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Like PaJack says, they are all different. My VSSF likes 27.5 grs of WW748 under a moly coated 50 gr VMax.Works for me.

I'm with Rembo, my Savage 112 will post .5 to .75 3 shot groups with a 50 gr moly tnt or vmax with 27.7 gr's of ww748, which pushes it to around 3325 fps. The moly really helps to keep the barrel cooler and the best part is that I can extend my deep cleanings another 50 rnds or so. That is if I do my part.

I would have to look this up for sure but I think my load was 24.5 grains 3031 with 55 grain Blistic tip bullet.
