I' m gonna stick to my 50 encore bbl. my buddy bought one in 45 and it to shot all over the place. he was very disappointed for the amount of money spent. i told him to contact T/C and i bet they would make good on the bbl.
i havent heard what he did yet . i guess i need to call and check on him.

You are scaring me Herman. I' m pretty sure mine will continue to do well with the big boys I' m shooting from White even though they are a nightmare to load. The bit of Bore Butter I put on the base of those White sabots helps but they still go down tight! I' ve got to get out and do some shooting again soon. More with the .45 and have yet to shoot the .50 I bought.
I' m going to give conicals another try in the .45 also. I' ve got some that weigh about 325 grains and pop out of the mould at about .447 diameter. Those should load easily in that tight bore and I' m keeping my fingers crossed that they will perform.
Oh, and don' t forget that I had the QLA section cut off of my .45 barrel. I think that may well have helped. Doesn' t make much sense that a .50 WITH QLA would do well and the .45 will not do the same, but maybe the barrel control and alignment of the QLA is just better on the .50 cals.??

I picked up a box of the hornadySST today only ones that are out are the 250 gs for 50 cal, will try them out in the 50 barrel soon as I get a chance.
Was at the range yesterday and a fellow from on of the sporting stores was there trying to zero a encore 50 cal for a customer. He had talked to T/C and he said they told him to use the T/C xtp with the take apart sabots in 240 grain,so he just brought with him a pack of them and a pack of the PTX in 250 grs,out of the pack of the ptx he got ( at 50 yds)2 to hit close to the bull close to each other,so he ran out of them then decided to try the xtps that they told him to use,he shot 2 of them but couldn' t find where he hit any where on the target board ( about 4x5 ft)so he loaded another one and I watched to see if I could tell where he was hitting,I did he hit 7 ft to the right and about 6 ft low, plowing through the ground.the only difference in the 2 bullets where one was a 44 cal and one was a 45 cal. and 10 grains difference. He called T/C then and the fellow told him that was the difference in the bullets.I can see that there would be some difference in 50yds but 7ft left and 6 ft low. Ain' t them muzzleloaders something????

Got a chance to shoot some of the 250 gr.SST' s today, they shot well I thought.
The best 3 shot group was 1.062 using 100 grs of pyrodex pellets, next group was a 5 shot group using 100 grs of pyrodex select 2.116,3rd group was a 4 shot group(run out of bullets)was 1.883 using 110 grs of pyrodex select.Didn' t shoot any one hole groups but I think those are good enough to take any deer within 150 yds.
I had better luck with these than I did with the PrB in 240 gr dead center,Next time I want to try some with the clean shot and T7.
One thing with the pyrodex I didn' t have to struggle getting the breeh plug out after shooting all those shots. Also tried the power belts in 245 grs with 100 and 150 gr pellets but didn' t get much of a group with either load.
Still waiting on the 200 gr SST' s to come out,if they shoot as good as the 250 grs I will be happy.
I paid $9.99 for abox of 20 here but I saw them I believe at MIDSOUTH for $7 something a box.Good price compared to the other premium muzzleloader bullets.
The 250' s are out in the T/C shock wave bullets too they were $9.50 for a box of 15 here.
