Default Power on

Well I finally got power this afternoon. Been two weeks since it went out. Made it pretty good once I got a big enough generator to run most of my house. Its funny though how the price seems to jump a 150 dollars when everyone wants one. There are still over 15,000 people in a 5 county area around here still out of power. A buddy of mine is a lineman for clay county electric and he told me it would be up in april before they hold all there customers powered up. Temp is 70 here tonight and were under a tornado watch. Thats all we need now is a dang tornado to come through.

Glad to hear the power is on and maybe things can get a little bit back to normal around your place.

Happy for you Greg. Generators sure beat being in the dark, but they are somewhat of a hassle too. Keep your head down when the wind blows!

glad to see things are better.

they had truck sale here in my area.

they had 4,000 watt generators for 199 dollars.

i put gas stove in my kitchen,if things get bad, i can heat 3 rooms with gas and still cook.

rest of house is baseboard electric.i bought one of those HEAT SURGE fireplaces that you can move from room to room for heat.its on tv with amish selling them for 298 dollars.

it runs on 110 and will heat 2 rooms easy

i always keep 5 gallons of gas in my shed in case i have to use generator.

Funny how the power seems to stay on here now.
I bought a 5000 watt gen that wouldn't run the whole house. so I had to flip breakers for the well when useing the kitchen range and vice veresa when drawing water. Since I sold it andgot the 7500 watt one and the 5500 watt ( for our bee removal bussness)one we have not lost power. Thats been some thing like 3 years.

My brother in law lost his power 3 times last winter & spring he put in a whole house auto start up model and hasn't lost power since either.

Glad your back up and running again.

I purchased a HOMELITE generator for the house because we used to get a lot of power outages. As soon as I bought it, there were no more power outages. Finally two years later, the power went out. I started up the generator, and it ran for about an hour and the thing stopped working. When I had it checked, the repair shop said, all the parts in the generator were not tightened down from the factory, shook loose, and wiped out the generator part of the unit. HOMELITE told me.. too bad. Its not in warranty as they cover it for one year. And that I should have ran the generator (even though it was not needed) to make sure it worked. So I guess it is my fault.

So NEVER GET A HOMELITE. And if you have a generator put up in your home, run the thing for about six hours and make sure all at the factory was done right.

I was finally able to sell the motor for about what I paid for the generator so it was not a complete loss.

i worry about mine too, its a CHINESE junk that i got for 199 dollars, its 4,000 watt at truck sale.

its running out front right now and has been for 8 hrs,so far ,so good.

i know what you mean. i bought a snowblower and did not use it for 5 years, then this year, 4 times so far.

my neighbors generator burnt up today,he is mad as h.

i asked him how old it was.

he said, 22 years.

i said, get a new one at truck sales when they come to area.

will cost more to fix than its worth.
