Weaver Grand Slam Scope
Have had a Weaver Grand Slamvariable scope forabout7years. It is the 3-10X40. That scope was on a Remington model 700 in .308. The .308 rifle got a new Leupold scope and the Weaver went on my CVA Stag Horn.
Took that gun hunting this evening with the scope set on 4X. That scope is fantastic in low light. At one hour after sunset i looked through it and could have shot anything that came along. There was no moon visible and the sky was clear.

RE: Weaver Grand Slam Scope
I have a simple Bushnell Dusk to Dawn and it is amazing how much light it brings in and allows me to see at the end of the day. I was sitting in a blind one afternoon and it was still legal hunting hours mind you, but because of the marsh I was in, I could no longer see up the deer trails with my Simmons Binoculars. Yet, through that Bushnell I could see plain as day and could have shot if a deer would have cooperated...
It sounds like you have a good scope on that Staghorn.
