All my shooting will be LESS than 100....heck, less than 75 yards. Not many
L O N G shots here in mid-Missouri on the river bottoms where I hunt.......unless there is a problem! LOL!

I talked to some peopleabout that, they said it works best if you have 1700fps at the point of impact but not more than 2250, I know some of the guys have pushed them up to 24oo with smokeless and I would sure like to see a report on game or balistic gel at that speed as a lot of bullets work fine for some fps above there design range and I can get more than2250 without excessive pressure. I was always under the impression that the bonded shockwaves were for hard to penetrate game animals. I sure would not put a white tail in that group. My fear with them is they will hit and poke a hole though the body.

I am not saying they will not work well for you. Shot placement like all things is critical. You should get pass through with them, but I have no working knowledge of them and how they expand. For White tail deer under 100 yards, I'd be shooting a simple 300 grain XTP or Speer Gold Dot in .430 diameter with about 80-90 grains of powder. That should hit, expand, and plant them there.

Actually I shoot a rifle that throws large chunks of lead. Your KRB is supposed to be a conical shooter and might be something you want to try. Where I hunt, I need to plant them on a path or be ready for a lot of work getting them out of the tangle...

For a very aerodynimic bullet at 275g the Parker Ballistic Extreme will do the job very accurately. I believe I shot 8 deer with them last year and most were dead within 20 yards or so. This was in a Savage at about 2000 fps. Chap

No worries about aerodynamics at that kind of range. Go with 250 grain Gold Dots through the boiler room and put `em down.

I always take the velocity into consideration, those bonded bullets open quickly even on deer when the velocity is high enough, I think we could all agree on that and that the unbonded bullets will fragiment if the velocity is high enough, we have to judge each individual bullet as to at what velocity these things will happened and after you take the velocity lost by longer range shots it gets even more complicated. For those of us who have switched entirerly to BH209 there is also considerable increase in velocity especally with the 250+ gr bullets.
I am inclined to believe that when you are shooting a bullet that leves the muzzle at over 1900 fps and expect to rarely if ever be shooting more than 100 yds that a bonded bullet is good the design of the 250 Gold Dot for instance will open well at 1700 and that is a bonded bullet while I would prefer to have bonded Shock Waves up around 200fps, as it is my experance that they open best at over 1900fps.
